The Longwood [i tY Council met in regular se on January 11th. at I:30 P. M.
Present: Aii Council Members, Mayor Kenneth H. Brown, & S. Joseph Davis, City
Attorney.
Meeting opened with prayer by Rev. Hol canbe Pastor, Nazarene Church, followed by
Salute to the Flag.
Correspondence: A letter from Mayor Bf 11 Grier of Cass el berry inviting Longwood
Councilmen & Mayor to a joint meets n9 in Las sei berry Janvary 24th. 19]3 at ]:00 o m.
Mayor Brown re mmended co ncil not participate in the meeting with Cass ei berry
Officials and the letter be forviarded to the Chairman Of LALNO. Moved by Mr. K1 oskY
cOndetl by Mr. Crenshaw to send a letter to Mayor Grier & Las sel berry Officials
vi ti ng them to the February ]th. meeting Of CALNO in Longwood.
Mrs. Weber, Mr. Crenshaw, Wm. K7 os Ky, Eugene Jaques voiced a yes vote. Mr. Williamson
voted No. Motion carried.
A letter From Mr. William Palm, Li ty Engineer, Re: Progress No. 4. Water System
Improvements by Lee Construction CO. Of Sanford, Inc..
A 45 day extenti0n time ex ten ti on due to delays in vi ng the electrical control
panel & switch gear, also the balance of the paymentef ns the amount Of $ 31,608.00
to be paid.
Moved by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. K7 os ky to allow the 45 day exten ti on and the
balance of the payment be denied until Mr. Fisher, City Supt., & Mr. Palm can meet
to re ew the problems, upon Mayor Brown's re mnendati on.
Roil Cali Vote: Mr. Crenshaw, Williamson, Kles ky voted yes. Mr.Jaques and
Mrs. Weber voted No. Motion carried.
Mr. Al Clark of Lal bert Construction Co. requested Council to 9ra nt se ral v
n the Highland Hills 5/D. Mayor Brown re mended that the Plat of Highl andaHi ij ses
S/D be dens ed unless Mr. Li ark donates 3 5000.00 in lieu of curbs & gutters.
Mr. R.H. Norton, engineer for Mr. Liark spoke in behalf Of del ati ng the curhs and
gutters, using grass swans instead.
Moved by Mr. Kl os ky seconded by Mr. Williamson for Mr. Clark to follow the 0/D
Ordinance.

Mavor Brown re mended a public hea ri n9 be set on the reguest of Mr. John Daniels
t0 change the sons ng of property located on Nwy 434, West of Oxford Street from R-1
to B-1.
Moved by Mr. Kl os ky seconded by Mr. Crenshaw to hold a public hearing February 0th.
at 7:00 p. m. Mots On carded.
An agreement for fire protection, a requested by CALNO for Mutual aid between the
Li ties was presented to co cil fors study. Mayor Drown reconmended council to adopt
me form of fire protection agreement.
Moved by Mr. K105 ky seconded by Mr. Williamson Lo place the agreement On next weeks
agenda. Motion carried.
Mayor Brown re wmmended Ordinance N 319 be placed on first reading.
Moved by Mr. Ki OS ky seconded by Mrs. Weber to place Ordinance # 319 on first reading.
