LPAMin03-09-83The Land Planning Agency held its regularly uhe"I" meeting on March 9, 1983 at
7:30 P. M. in the Longwood City Caroni ssf on Chambers.
Present: Emery Me ineke, Chairman
H. H. Haynie, Vice Chairman
Robert Hammond
Harvey Smerilson
Harry Lindsey (arrived during discussion of Item IV)
R. A. Bryant, Building Official
Geri Zambri, Recording Secretary
1. Chairman Meineke called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
2. Approval of Minutes of February 23, 1983 Meeting. Motion by Mr. Haynie, second
by Mr. Smerilson, to approve the Minutes of February 23, 1983 meetings written.
Motion carried by a unanimous roll tall vote.
3. Re vest to Amend the Future land Use Map from L-3 to I-2 - Requested by Aivin H.
Savage• Location: est s e of Savage Court. Present zoning Y-2 - Future Land
Use Mao C-3. Mr. Aivin N. Savage present.
Mr. Bryant explained that the Future land Use Map had brought the subject property to
a C-3 category but that the property was improved as a office/warehouse complex, and
that most of the people interested in renting a portion of the complex would in most
nstances be types of businesses which would be consf dered penni tted us under 1-1.
He explained that Br. Savage was asking for the amendment because most of the potential
tenants did not fit under the L-3 category and it . ne sa ry for them to request
a Cond i tf onal Use in order to rent in the foci lity. Although Mr. Savage is requesting
I-2, it fs the opt nfon of staff that I-1 would be a s appropriate category for
the district and would conform to the type of compl exoin existence on the property,
ana woule at so et iminate Heavy fndus try.
Motion by Mr, smerilson, second by Mr. H—d to re mmend approval to City Commission
of an Airs—ent to the Future Land Use Map from C-3 to 1-1 regarding Savage. Property.

4. Re nest fora Variance to Si n Setback Re ulati ons - Re nested b John R. and Cath
Uelon Pestr a ocation: 1/2 mite east of 426 on North side of R 4 4. of 8 6,
I.T.—
Mr. Bryant stated that the bnilding which is involved in the request sits back only
10 Feet flan the property line, which was permitted at the time it was built. There are
existing'. signs on the premises which the applicant is asking to replace with on
larger sign. This sign however will not meet the setback requirements of the ne
ordinance due to the fact that the building itself is only ten feet from the property
line, therefore they ar requesting s variance to the setback requirement of 16 Feet
flan the property line.o Mr. Bryant stated that with the exception of the setback
requirement, the proposed sign would meet all other regulations of the sign ordinance.
Motion by Mr. Smerf is— s bond by Mr. Haynie to re mnend approval to the Board of
Adjustment of the va ¢requested by He Long (Pres {i ge). Mott on carried by a
unanimous roll call vstb.o
