He sated that Mr. Alexander's request of the Commission is to see Iiow a solution can be derived short of ending the Ordinance to allow fnr a shover waning period between permits. Deputy Mayor Miller noted in the past, a City Administrator mould suspend the rule and noted there have been temporary signs placed along constmction areas m point out businesses. Commissioner Bundy suggested changing the Ordinance. He said Mr. Alexander is not asking for a one time waiver and the Commission cannot gent a waiver ofd permit w one individual. Mayor Avderson also suggested amending the City Code. He said the desire behivd this Ordinance was for businesses to have otflual signage. He rewmmended a reader board and said the reader board could advertise specials, and noted this would be wnsidered a perm signage. Deputy Mayor Miller inquired about distinguishing between a banner and temporary signage. He suggested Bening up regulations for banners and gave the example of a car sales lot displaying banners. He reyuested the City Administrator come up with a solution regarding this issue and to bring it forth for the City Commission to wnsider. Mr. Drago responded to Deputy Mayor Millei s ingoiry and said when they had their mezling wi[h Mr. Wade there were Three or four dumpstes that wue grendfathered in without the reyulrement t'or the enclosure. He said this would normally be handled under staff review. He wanted to discuss this issue with his fellow Commissioners and said whatever the consensus ofthe Con s; he would go along with it.
