Milwee Middle Sehoat.
Students fiom the sixth grade class at Milwee Middle School gave
a brief power point presentation ofa future skate perk within the
City of Longwood.
Commissioner Bundy said this was a good opportunity to have
studentspres spore tial skate parkrothe City Commission
bec se the studen represent the individuals that re going to use
the skate park Pncility.
Mayor Anderson said the last time hewas at the City of Oviedo', rte
looked at the drawings for their Nture skate park. He said when
the City of Lake Mary had opened their skate park; the City
icipated a,0o0 visitors per year end the city surpassed the 4,000
within the first three weekends oCthe parKS Opening. He
sand skate parks are very successful and tha Staze recently limited
civil liability Por the city. Mayor AVduson added [he skate park
provides the following Por children: a place fix children to mee~ an
ivity for children that provides a controlled environment and
supervision, and a sport that children enjoy. Mayor Anderson
thanked everyone for coming and commended the students for
doing a great job.

It was the consensus ofthe City Commission to hold three Work
Sessions on May 12, 2003, June 9, 20113, end Sune 23, 2003 at ~

has swpped having Executive Sessions on the negotiations with Florida
Power, he said in his opini q [he negoti ns has gone backwards. He

solution. He said if the City Commission does not settle soon, then
Florida Power will withdraw [Heir offer. Commissioner LOVestrand said

ve January schedule- He added that arbitration is very expensive

election ballot for this November, if they went to spend the money tar

evaluations of proposals instead of staff doing the evaluations He

Mayor Avdereov restated the motion- He said Commissioner

that staff is more than adequately capable of reviewing the
