2. REVIEW AND CONSIDER CHAR'1'EIZ ADVISORY COMMJTTEE
RECOMMENDATIONS.
Deputy Mayor Vacca moved that the re rendations from the Charter
Advisory Committee be accepted, with the following changes: striking the
m proposed Section IO.Ol,amending proposal Section 6.06 (I) by sttiking
the ord "the city administramr rhall"and replacing with the words "[he City
Comm e'hall," a ending Section p.06 (I) (a) by deleting Ne words "of
a shoes dumhon and replacing with "of not more than sixty (6~ days.

Seconded by Commissioner Sargem.
Commissioner Carrico said the commission mmnbers have never had the opportunity m give
their o n thoughts on the charter and asked if Nat could be done. In response o Mayor

Commissioner Cerrieo said he wished to dixcuss on absences from meetings an0
suggested that commissioners who are absent from meetings should be docked a portion of
their pay.

Deputy Mayor Vaeca said the reason was Ms. Lomax had indicated, during the break, [hat
she wasn't feeling well and as Ms. Lomax has already been sitting for 2 1l2 hours. Foh it
was not fair to delay.

Mayor Winston said one of the questions raised was whether Arbor Park should remain as

With respect to the liability factor, Mr. Taylor would be requcstad to look at
the legal aspects of children crossing the road, as well as, the development of

Deputy Mayor Vacca said she would like to sce the 510,000 difference that :vas proposed
for development of a toddler park in Arbor Park be designaced to build a basketbxll court
to Reiter Park.
With respect to the mowing of fhe medians, Ms. Lomax said she, Mr. Smith and Mr. Tiblier
wed the inventory listing and a revised listing was prepared. Ms. Lomax said she had
aced the cost of the median work, after payment from PDOT, would be $2'],9Y1

Discussion ensued with respect to whether the mowers recently purchased were suited for
the median work.
Commissioner Sargent asked if we cosuidered the possibility of bidding out to a private firm.
