PERSONNEL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES, CHAPTER 4. CODES Of
CONDUCT. 4.24 ~ NEPOTISM -FAMILY EMPLOYMENT RESTRICTIONS.
Deputy Mayor Vacca said while going through so information she noticed there is
n the city's Personnel Policies and Procedures which does not allow family
embersn of an employee n For offec and would require the Family member esign

xception of Altamonte Springs, has the re all others use the Florida Statutes.
Deputy Mayor Vacca requested the Commissions con~xider changing this policy. Keeping in
mind that if someone w un having a family member on board, [he city would be sued.

no[ have to defend a lawsuit.
Deputy Mayor Vecca moved that the a ney be directed to draw up a
ordinance to change [he Personnel Policy and Procedures, Section 4.02, and
delete the that restricts relatives of a c er from being an
employee of the oity, mying she did not believe ~he section was necessary.
Mr. Taylor suggested if the c n decides to change [he policy, they may consider jus

with going ahead with the permitting if the ordinance was not yet approved.

to do, is expedite the process in order to get some major businesses hooked up, and over

Springs, which they will renegotiate, but will also request one from Granville and Maitland.
