and recognized Sheriff Don Edinger wl~o would present the Annual ]OY Awards. Mayor
Ben ended condoler rthe death of Aynal Jmni, City resident and City employee,
and a~kedtthe City Attorney to read an Expression of Sympathry.

Mr. Taylor called for a moment of silent meditation and asked that everyone remember Mr.

Mx. Taylor then read an Expression of Sympathy by the Longwood City Officials in the

A) PRESENTATION OF' JUVENILE OF THE YEAR (lOY) AWARDS.
Mayor Benson announced the 14th Annual Juvenile of the Year Awards' presentation would
be made by Sherill Edinger. She then gave a bne(hisrory of she mrerds and read a short
biographic sketch of each student prior to Sheriff Edinger making the presentations.
Awards were then presented fo the students during whidr time fbe teachers rvnd principals

In response to Commissioner Vacw, Mr.'I"aylor advised that the pay was identical w last

working.
Mr. Taylor explained that the contract is on an hourly basis with limitarions He said flte
current contract has worked well and Ms. Goodblatt has served the beard well.

professional se agreement between Amy Goodblatt and Killgore,
Pearlman, Shepmd esnd Stamp, P A., and the City of Longwood be approved

12. CONSIDERATION OF GOUITYSNDV COMMITIFF..RECOMMENDATIONS.
Mr. Smith briefly re wad the Equity Study Committee Revommevdaticvs and so
additional changes that could be considered, as per the City Clerk's memo dated February
16, ]995.
Motion by Deputy Mayor Cnmco, seconded by Cmnmissioner Vaeca, to
veep[ the Equity Study Recommendations, as presented, and that a
ordinance be drafted Eor first reading. Further, that the additional changes
proposed be accepted.
Commissioner Vaaa said she researched the issue of coin operated machines and did not
believ the City should disallow operated n achin s located ooCSide the building.
Deputy Mayor Canico said be preferred to a cep[ the Committee's recommendations as
they did a great deal of study on this.
Motion varried by unanimous roll call vote.
I3. DISCUSS INVESTMENT POLICY FOR CITY OF LONG WOOD
Mr. McNutt referenced hu' memo dated February t4, 1995, which he said was an update
on the invesvnent policy. Mr. McNutt said there was, apparently, some misunderstanding

little bit more money could be made, but with a little more risk Further Vlsaid he was
comfortable with the current policy and thought the City should stay with iL

Deputy Mayor Carrico eaid he spent some time on Fliday and Sunday at Loch Lomond
