paxxn the city and the need for anre help. Chief Manning staged that three officers
shift was nat sufficient.

The Longwood City Commission met at 7:00 p.m. as an equalization board to consider
paving assessments for paving Wayman Street
Present: Mayor Hepp
COamissioner Grant.

David Chacey, City Administrator
Donald Terry, City Clerk
1. Mayor Hepp called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and explained the purpose of
hearing and invited comments from interested persons.
2. Mr. Chacey, stated that the City Commission had passed a resolution which stated that
if any resident had participated in a paving assessment and had paid 90% of the costs,
they would later be excluded from a paving assessment instituted by the City. Mr.
Chacey said there were four owners in this category.
3. Mrs. Gladys Simpson stated that she lived on the corner of Wayman and Pasadena and
that.costs quoted four years ago were $6.80 per foot. Mr. Chacey explained that
petroleum products and labor costs have increased.
4. Mr.. Snodgrass inquired as to who would pay for intersections and Mr. Chacey stated
that residents would only be assessed for land fronting Wayman Street.
5. Mr. Bob Crane asked if there would be any change in the position of the C mdssion
concerning their policy on residents being excused for paving assessments for a second
abutting street when they have paid 90% and Commissioner Uskert said not as long as the
present Commission is sitting. Mr. Chacey advised Mr. Crane that paving assessments
would be billed -in 10 annual installments and a 8 percent interest fee charged.
6. There were no further comments and the equalization board adjourned at 7:12 p.m.
