Nelms, Don Schreiner, Mayor Jaques, City Attorney, S. Joseph Oavi s, Jr. Meetin opened with prayer by Rev. Holcombe, followed by Salute to the Flaq. Motion by Mr. Nelms seconded by Mrs. Lormann to approve the minutes of the previous meetings. Motion carried. Report from the City En9 sneer, Wm, Palm, on bids for the sanitary sewer collector ystem. Mr. Noward Marcee, representing Mr. John Ki mbrough, stated that his client is opposed to an exatf on of the property 8 requested the matter be continued or denied at this ti me,nun til the outcome of the suit on annexation of properties ih this solved. Mr. Rod Cable, president, Chamber of Commerce, gave a report on:: the progress of the chamber. Mr. table & Mr. Gene Duffy have been appo toted as liaison between the chamber ] the city. Mr. Duffy stated that it was the desire of the chamber to work with the city Officials & the planning 8 zoning board. Mr. Roger Berry, representing Mr. Jack Shubert requested a public hearing for a special exception in the B-1 zoning to permit a sery to be operated. Motion by Mr. Helms seconded by Mrs. Lonnann to seta Dubl is hearing on February 11th. at ]: 00 p. m. on the Shubert Property. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Hei ms authorizing Lhe Mayor to sign the contract between L. A. Hobbs, Jr. ¢& the City of Longwood. Roll tall Vote: Unaminous, motion carried. Mayor Jaques re nme nded that the County Lomni sSi ~~ers be contacted regarding the drainage di tbh on Marvin Ave. Motion by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mrs. Lormann authorizing Lhe street dept. to contact Mr. John ftimbrough regarding the maintenance on the ditch, if no action is taken, then the Attorney is to enter suit against Mr John Shubert. Motion Carried. Motion by Mr. Schreiner seconded by Mr. Helms authorizing the Li ty Engineer to prepare sppciff cati ons on paving the unpaved portion of Ran9el ine Road. Carried. Mayor Jaques re nmentled that the reDOrt of Mr. Jim Melvin, Architect, be accepted wi tho id ing 10% of the submitted bill. Motion by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Nelms to pay the bill submitted by Mr. Melvin on the City Hall Annex,¢wi tho id 10%, pay $ 6,590.]5 Roll Call Vote: Unamf onus, motion carried.
