The Longwood City Council met fn rngul ar se ssf on September 20, at 8:30 P. M.
Present: Wm. J. Kl os ky, B.L. Helms, B.H. Ferrell, Dick Crenshaw, Mayor Jaques
& Li ty Attorney.
Absent: E.E. Williamson
Meeting opened with prayer by Mayor Jaques, followed by Salute to the Flag.
1. Wil ii am Palm, Engineer- Re: Wayman Street Drainage-24 inch pipe is needed to take
of the water flow. Detailed information will be furnished to the street Supt.
To extend the pipe to drain the entire ar a wf 11 cost approxfmately $ 11.000.00
to replace the cross pipe with sufficient size will cost $ 2,250.00.
2. Council requested the Engineer to clarify W7 Multiple Zoni n9. requirements.
Motion by Mr. Lrens haw seconded by Mr. Helms authorizing the plans for RM-Multiple
Zoning request to be turned over to the Engineer for revs ew. Motion carried. '
3. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Helms to approve the minutes of the
Drevf ous council meetings. Motion carried.
4. Letter from the Engineer Re: Shadow Hill S/0. The letter stated that the project
had been inspected & only minor discrepancies were found. The project was re- nspected
on September 1]th. and the minor discrepancies had been co rected. The Engineer
mmended that Shadow Hill S/D be accepted by the City subject to the Developer's
furnishing to the City the one year maintenance Bond, in cordance with the S/D
Ordinance. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Nel msato accept the Shadow Hill
S/0 subject to the above requirements bet n9 met. Motion carried. ~
5. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Helms authorizing the Police Chief to ~
call for bids on 2 police cars, both 1913 B 19]4 Models, delivery date to be between
January 1 & Janvary 30th. 19]4. Motion carried.
6. Mr. George Trinme r, of Trim-Tic, Inc. requested cl arifi catf on on the green belt
and Dark area in the Shadow Hill 5/D. Mr. Trinmer was advised that when the S/D is
ccepted by the Li ty of Longwood, the green belt 8 park ar s [he City's res pon-
s ibility. Mr. Tri inner requested council send him a letter to this effect. The Mayor
will inspect the green belts before the letter is written. Mayor Jaques an nced
that he had been approached by Developer's wanting to purchase the green bel LUarea
fran the city. Council stated [hey were not in favor of sel t ing them.
]. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Nelms to purchase Uniforms for the Police
Dept. from Unf ted Uniform Co. in the amount of $ 1,890.00, the bill to be paid in
January 19]4. Motion <a rried.
8. Petition for annexation of property into the city waz presented to co ncil. Motion
by Mr. Helms seconded by Mr. Ferrell to table the matter until September 2]th. Carried.
9. Letter from Stonehenge Vev. Corp. (Action Auto) reques ti n9 applf cation for annex-
ation B incorporation into the City of Longwood, of lands described in the letter, wa
read by the Attorney. The letter contained ]stipulations. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw s
cpnded by Mr. Helms autho rf zing the Attorney to draft a Resol utf on of intent to
annex Che property, subject to the necessary fees bet n9 paid. Motion carried.
30. Mayor Jaques recommended to council that the Lt cense of P & S Ambulance Service l
not be re- ewed as of October 1, 19]3, vnl ess the Firm is operating from a properly
oned are n Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell not to re- ew the License
of P & S Pmbui an ce Service unless the firm is operating from a properly zoned area.

11. Longwood-Markham Road- The Mayor an nced that he had held a meeting of the
Oevel opers using the road and they were willing to help defray the cost of paving.
Another meeting will be held Monday, September 24th. at 10:00 A. M. to discuss the
matter in detail.
12. The Attorney read Respl utf on k 232 in full. Motion by Mr. Ferrell seconded by
Mr. Helms to adopt Resolution k 232.
Roll Call Vote: Unaminous, oti on carried, Resol vii on N 232 was passed & adopted.

13. the Attorney read Resolution A 233 in full. Motion by Mr. Ferrell seconded by
Mr. Crenshaw to adopt Resolution A 233.

14. .Resolution k 234 was read in foil by the Attorney. Motion by Mr. Helms seconded
by Mr. Crenshaw to adopt Resolution N 234.

15. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell to place Ordinance N 341 on first

17. Motion by Mr. Ferrell seconded by Mr. Nelms to transfer $ 1.500.00 from item # 365,
transfer $ 290.00 from item V 533, transfer $ 210.00 from item A 526, into item K 530
(General Fund) Motion carried.
18. Motion by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Crenshaw to place an order fora tyDewri ter
to be used in the bookkeeping dept. motion carried.
19. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. He ims authorizing the Fire Chief to hire an
additional fireman of his choice, fn the fire dept. Motion carried.
20. Motion by Mr. Ferrell to adjourn the meeting.
