Mr. Russell Grant, z ning board member, stated that he could see no objections to Industrial z ning of this Property. Present: A11 Council Members, Mayor & City Attorney. Meeting opened with prayer by Mayor Jaques, followed by Salute to the Flag. 1. Mr. L.L. Cox was present to talk pn the Medical Building. The Medical Clinic has been in operatipn some 15 yrs. and was built by the Chamber of [amnerce. The hours the Cli nic is open were given. Mayor Jaques stated that the City needed the building for expansion of City Hall. The Mayor offered to let the County move the bvi iding to another site in theGounty, a three bedroom house that has been tlona ted to the City. Mr. mJamesnR. Smith suggested Council build one large building, sufficient to take e of future growth, instead of 5o many additions. The Mayor stated that the City does not have the funds without raf sing taxes. 2. Motion by Mr. Ferrell ec nded by Mr. Crenshaw to read Resolution k 215.( A Resolution on the grant offer) Roil call vote: Unaminous, motion ca ried, the Attorney read Resolution k 215 fn full. Motion by Mr. Ferrell seconded by Mr. rGrenshaw to adopt Resolution k 215. Carried. 3. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Nelms to place Ordinance X 334 on second B final reading, by title only Roll call vote: Unaminous, motion ca ried, the Attorney read the Ortli nonce by title onl y(Annex ing the Island lake Property) Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Nelms to adopt Ordinance p 334 on second 8 final reading. Mr. Geeg Orurtanond stated that he wanted to go on cord before the fact, that he is opposed to the use of the South Dort ion of the wetland being used for anything other than a large Parkland. Mr. Orwmond stated that he has a deeded interest in the Property, and that he was opposed Co an exatf on of the Island Lake Property without a fi nn comni ttment as to Park us nMr. Orumnontl was atlvis ed that a Public Nearing has been set for August 2nd. at 7:00 p.m. on the zoni n9 Cl assifi ca tt on of a po rtian of the Property. Roll call Vote: Unaminous, motion carried, Ordinance q 334 was passed & adopted. 4. Mr. Palm, Engineer-Re: Columbus Na rbor. One point needs to be resolved, the elimination of the drainage retention ponds. Mr. Palm re onanended Council accept the Piat of Columbus Harbor, subject to this one point being resolved. Motion by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Crenshaw to accept the Final Plat of Columbus Harbor subject to the above, and the Mayor be authorized to sign said Piat. Carried. 5. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell authorizing the Engineer to proceed with plans B specifications for Longwood's inteceptor system. Motion carried. 6. Three petitions for an exation of property into the City was presented to Council by the Li ty Lierk. The petitions were properly certified by Seminole County Tax Assessor. Motion by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Crenshaw authorizing the Li ty Attorney to draft a Resolution setting a Public hearing on the annexation. Carried. ]. A petition reques ti n9 Oak Street fran Church Ave., North to Palmetto Ave. to be paved was presented to co cil. All abutting property ow on the street sf gned the petition. Mr. Rick Schaller from Seminole Lablevi si on, reported on the Dro9ress of Cable T.V. The Ordinance with minor changes was referred to the City Attorney. 12. Mr. Kelley, from Glass 8 Mirror Products, Re: The 100 ft. proposed no parking on Hwy 427 8 Church Ave. The Merchants realize that a hazardous condition does exist, but no parking signs will r n their business. Police Chief, Wesley Dowell, suggested the merchants request the delf very trucks to park in the re r of the buildf ngs. Council Lhai noon, William Kl os ky agreed to contact the County regardi n9 a solution to the matter. 13. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Williamson to accept the low bid of Nood Tractor Ce. for the purchase of the tractor, Hack-Hoe. Mr. Crenshaw, Nelms, Williamson, Kl os ky voiced a yes vote. Mr. Ferrell voted no. Motion carried. 14. A used Fire Tanker from the Orla Vista Fire Dept. w s offered to Longwood for 5 5,000. Purchase of the equipment was tabled until the next meeting. 15. Finance Comm ttee set a date to meet with Street OeVt., July 24th. at 7:30 p.m. I6. Motion by Mr. Ferrell seconded by Mr. Helms to accept the ff non ci a? statement. Motion carried. 17.
