Meeting opened with prayer by Mayor Jaques, followed by Salute to the Flag. Correspondence read by the City Clerk: 1. Letter from the Board of County Comni ssi one rs: Subject: A one hour work session to discuss City/County traffic signal ization, parti ci patign program, 2. Memo from Central Fla. Society for Historic Preservation, Re: Moving of Bradlee- McIntyre house. The house will begin to roll Friday night April 2I, and the move be completed abouT 3:30 Sunday P. M. 3. Letter fron the Board of County Commissioners expressing sincere & deepest regrets regarding the death of Cart Lomml er. 4. Letter from GHR Associates, regarding street lighting for Sa ntllewpod S/D. AS the council directed the light locations have been increased and wf 71 use concrete poles. 5. Letter from the Lounty Sanitation department, Re: ComDt aint against P & A Refuse Service. The letter stated P.8 A did not have a ounty permit dnd wds located fn Lhe City of Longwood, the complaint would have to be taken care of by the City. 6. Letter from the City Engineer, Re: Highland Hil is 5/0. The letter stated that the elimination of curbs & sidewalks is desirable. The engineer estimates that the vings to the level o0er would be b 20,000 for curbs and sidewalks $ 22,200, a total of $a42, 200. If the co nett elects to eliminate curbs 8 sidewalks, both the par&ways and driveways shoal dube swat ed to provide proper drainage. The matter was referred to the chat noon. Motion by Mr. Ferrell seconded by Mr. Helms to approve the minutes of previous meetings. Motion carried. Motion carried. Mayor Jaques stated that he had met with the Fire Dept. Re: Election of a Fire Chief. The fire department elected Roy La Bossi ere as the new chief. Roll Call Vote: Unarm nous, motion carried. The Mayor presented the na e of Mrs. Laverne Cohunime and Father Warren Thompson to se on the Hf stori cal Preservatf on Cortmi ttee. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell iq approve the appointments. Motion carried. Bids on Fire Truck opened 8 read. The purchase of the Droperty ac 5 from the Li [y Garage was df scussed, also purchase of property on lake Myrtle Hills Road, sale of property owned by the City and used d5 the City Dump. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw Seconded by Mr. Williamson to call for aDPrai sal of these properties. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Het ms instructing the Attorney to draft an Ordinance prohi bf ti nq the keeping of livestock within the Lity. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Nelms to employ temporary help to prepare an inventory of all city equipment. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Helms instructing the Attorney to draft a Resgivtion expressing gratitude 8 appreciation For the servf ce rendered to the City by Carl Lgmmler.
