The Longwood City Council met in regular session May 3t, 19]3, at ]:30 p.m
Present: William Kl os ky, E.E. Williamson, B.H. Ferrell, B.L. Helms, Dick Crenshaw.
Mayor Euqene Jaques, Attorney Ned Jui tan.
Meeting opened with prayer by Mayor Jaques. followed by Salute to the Flag.
LorresDOntlence read by the City Clerk as follows:
1. A petition requesting property located on S.R. 427 to be an exe0 i to the
City, was presented to the City Louncf 1. The petition was properly certified by
the Seminole County Tax Assessor.
Moved by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Williamson to table the request until
June 14th. Mr. Helms stated he would prefer the matter go back to the zoning board.
Motion carried.
2. A letter from the Board of County Conmi ssi ~~ers to the M1layor, stati nq that
the Board had passed an appropriate resolution, toques if n9 left turn ar and
related intersection improvements at the intersection of SR 42] & SR 434. wsThe
Board of County Comnissi ~~ers supPOrts Longwood's position in these improvements.
3. letter from DOT- Re: 5 year plan for alt road improvements under the City's
jurisdiction. The Street Supt. is working on the project.
4. Mr. Noward Allard from Winter Spri nqs Li vic Association was Oresent to discuss
a "Donkey Soft Ball" game with Longwood. The Fire Chief stated that the Fire Dept.
fs ready to participate.
5. Letter from James H. Sayer, Community Development, Re: Federal a istgnce
For recreational programs. The Federal a zi stance program requires 50-SOSmatchi ng
as part of its funding. The State makes available the first $ 50.000. without
matching and then will match with local governments, tloil ar tar dollar, 8 casts
beyond up to a second $ 50, OOD.
6. Letter from Mayor Granville Brown, Chairman, stating that the scheduled
meeting of LALNO for June 6, 1973, is postponed until June 13th. 19J3 in Longwood
Li ty Hall.
J. Letter from Mayor Jaques to Nr. Juil an Fus set i, Vice President, SunPac Foods,
[nc. stating that SunPac Foods,l nc. had complied wf th pollution can trot requirements
se[ forth by Mr. Langley Rdair and the City of Longwood. The public heart ng
on the matter has now been cancelled.
Mayor Jaques will draft a letter to DOT to the attention of Mr. Benedict
requesting mo es be taken from the secondary road funds, i order to open the ditch
from Wil dmerenAVenue to Fairy lake fn order to further solve the problem.
8. Letter from Mr. Palm to Nader Nanes, Inc. Re: Convnon Sewerage facilities.
The estimated pro-rata cost of the common force main to each of the developnents
were set forth in the letter.
The matter was referred to the Enqi neer.
9. Letter from the City Engineer to Mr. Robby Robinson, Re: The "Moorings"
The letter referred to water distribution, and paving 8 drainage. Mr. McNi nny, a
esi dent 8 land ow r adjacent to Rock Lake, was present regarding the run-off
of surface water into Rock Lake. Mr. McN finny requested co ncii to take any steps
they could to stop the developer of the Moorings S/0 from cutting down the

south bank in order to allow water to !rain into the Lake, which at the present
time is contaminated body of water.

10 Letter from James 5. Oyer, accompanied by a Cashier's check in the
ount of fi 1,000., ffering to purchase the Li ty's property located on Longwood-
Lake Mary Road, for $ 21,000. cash. The City Council had previ oust ey called for
an Appraisal of the Property, and the Appraisers valued the land for $ 18,150.00
Motion by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Crenshaw to sell the property to
Mr. Oyer for $ 21.000.00 Motion carried.
11. Motion by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Helms to transfer the re nin9
funds in the Sewer 8 Water Construction Fund, into the Water Oepa rtmen t. mMOtiw
carried.
12. Motion by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Crenshaw to transfer the re ni ng
monies in the L. D's in the amount eof 5 20,000. into the General Fund. Mqti onecarried.
13. Mr. Ferrell requested afire "proof" cabinet to keep checks in to be purchased
for Bookkeeper. Mr. Crenshaw recommended state pricing on cabinets be checked.
14. Motion by Mr. Helms seconded by Mr. Wf 7li amson to advertise for bids on
400 water meters 8 400 meter boxes, a requested by Water Supt., bf ds to be returned
by June 14th. at 4:30 p. m. Motion carried.
15. Motion by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Williamson to approve the minutes of
Council meeting of May 1I, 19]3. Motion carried.
16. Motion by Mr. Ferrell sec nded by Mr. Helms to approve the minutes of
Council meeting of May 24, 19]3. with on correction, as follows, Paragraph 9 to tle
changed From $ 39,355.00 to $ 37 ,355.OO.e
Mr. Crenshaw, Nelms, Ferrell, Kl os ky voiced a yes vote, Mr. Williamson voted no.
Motion carried.
17. Mayor Jaques gave a report on Federal Revenue Sharing. He r c amended
monies received this year be allocated to property expansion of City Hall
18. The Chairman announced a Special Session of Council for June ]th., followed
by a work session.
19. Motion by Mr. Ferrell seconded by Mr. Williamson to adjourn the meeting.
