Williamson, B.H.~Ferrel 1, Mayor Jaques, City Attorney. Absent: William J. K7 os ky, B.L. Helms Meetf ng opened with prayer by Flayor Jaques, followed by Salute to the Flag. Correspondence read by the City Clerk I. Letter from Sheriff, John Polk, stating that the Sanford Crime Laboratory is providing se ce to 23 Counties & approximately 60 Municipalities, has been letter nta [edc that~henlawnhatbeendedebded & Law Enqui res ethata40%tofcthe~funds he must come from local cash contri buts onsn A request of $ 500. from the City of Longwood is requested to assist in supporting next yeaK,s operation. Mayor Jaques stated that it was his understanding that the county ievi es mil lage to operate the crime lab. and recommended that the matter be tabled until next meetf ng. Motion by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Ferrell to table the matter. Motion carried. 2. Letter from Water Bonnet, Inc. Re: Water Bonnet, [nc. agrees ng to sell the City of Longwood one NCR -3100 N-accoun ti n9 machine for the sum of $ 81].80. The machine will be a credit towards the fi rm;s fire protection. Motion by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Williamson authorizing the Mayor to sign a setter confirming the agreement. Motion carried. 3. Resolution from ComBan k/ ca selberry far city officials to sig A, was presented to co ncil. The Resolution no on file with the bank obsolete. Motion by Mr. Ferrell seconded by Mr. Williamson to adopt the Resolution from the bank. Motion carded. 4. A Resolution regarding the Police planning survey was read by the Attorney. Carried. 6. Bids on the water meter boxes were opened and read. Bids received from: Hughes Supply, Inc. (Unable to bid on c Crete boxes. placed an alternate bftl for plastic meter boxes) $ 525 ea. Brooks Products of Florida, [nc. (Concrete boxes) $ 3.90 ea Motion by Mr. Ferrell seconded by Mr. Williamson to refer the bf ds to water Supt. Motion carried. ]. Mr. Earl Showers was present regarding a water problem on Palmetto Ave. & ST 42], at his warehouse. Mr. Williamson stated that the street committee had looked at the situation and felt that it is not the city's problem. Mr. Williamson told Mr. Showers that it was poor planning of the drai nags when the warehouse was built. Mr. Showers stated that the street Supt. told him to co er the drain ai ready there. Motion by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Ferrell authod ring the Mayor to call the Li ty Engineer to look over the condition & make a recommendation. Motion carri etl, 8. Mr. James Longbi ne requested permission to parka trailer On his property while relatives ar visiting. Motion by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Ferrell to grant a two (2) weeks permit. Motion carried. 9. Mr. Ferrell reques tetl action be taken regarding the bookkeepers salary. Motion by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Williamson to ra e the salary of the bookkeeper to $ ],p00. per year until the new budget is complete. Motion carri etl ':'S4 10. The Mayor stated that the bvi ld inq is needed to expand the offices of the city personnel. 12. Motion by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr., Ferrell to place Otdi nonce q 331 on first reading. Roll Lall Vote: Unaminovs, motion carried, Ordinance q 330 was passed 8 adopted. 16. Mayor Jaques stated that a request had been made to mow the entrance to Sleepy Hollow, first addition. The street, dept. comni ttee agreed for the city crew to mow the road r/w entrance to Sleepy Noll ow 1st. addi tf on. 17. Motion by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Ferrell to allow hlr. Alex Hobbs to pave Ma rein Ave. and also to install the force main fn Grant Street. Roll Call Vote; Unaminovs, motion carried. 10.
