Regular Session, December 21, 1972
The Longwood City Council met fn rey ular session December 21st. at 6:30 P.M.
Present: Mrs. Agnes Weber, E.E. Williamson, Wm. Klos ky, Dick Crenshaw, Mayor Brown

Absent: Eugene Jaques
Meeting opened with Salute to the Flag by the Vice Chai noon, Wm. K1osYy
Ff rst on the Agenda was Ordinance 318 (Cahle T.V. FrancM1i se)
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mrs. Weber to place Ordinance M 318 on first reading
Roll Call Vote: Unarm noun, Motion carried. Reading of the lengthy Ordinance by tape
was stopped by Mr. Davis shq rtely after it was started, as it was going to slowly.
Mr. Crenshaw & Mr. Davis took turns reading it in its entirety. Mr. Williamson
questioned the rates & was told that the first Month would be free, and a fee of $ q.95
per Month would be charged those wanting the service, and it was not compulsory. Moved
by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mrs. Weber to adopt Ordinance N 318 on first reading.
Roll Call Vote: Unarm nous, Motion carried. Seconds and final reading scheduled for ~
December 28th. Mr. Klos ky asked fora motion to approve the minutes of tM1e previous 4
meeting. Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mrs. Weber to waive approval of the
ml notes due to the fact they had not read tehm. Motion carried.
Mr. Tam Radloff again appeared to rej uest far annexation of his land for a Mobile
Nomes Park. Mayor Brown recommended to table this until the first of the year. Motion
by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mrs. Weber. Motion carried.
Jerry Rendel -Re: Sandi ewood S(0 was told by Mr. Kl os ky that his pl an5 had not come
back from the engi neer, and was re-scheduled for December 28th.
Mr. Bastin, owner of the Do Drop In requested a permit fora live band and dancing at
his establishment. Mayor Brawn made the reconmendati on that he be given the permit at
the fee of $ 50.00. Council approved.
Discussion again by Council in regard to the ditch on Mr. Sch ubert's property.
Mayor Brown recommended that Louncfl autho rf ze Me. Davfs to take legal steps necessary
to open the ditch and settle the question once and for all. Mrs. Weber made the
motion, Mr. Williamson seconded. Mgti pn carried.

Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Williamson to read Resolution k 205 (Paying
the Zoning Board).
Roil Lall Vote: Unami noun, motion carried. Moved by Mrs. Weber seconded by Mr.
Crenshaw to adopt Resolution W 205. Motf on carried.
Mayor Brown made the recommendation that Mr. Fisher be made the head of just the
Water pept, as Der his letter at a salary of $ 8,000.00 a year. Moved by Mrs. Weber
seconded by Mr. Williamson to table this until December 28th. Motion carried.
Mr. Crenshaw regves ted permission for council to authorize the buyi nq of some books
for the playgrounds ai a cost of under $ 50.00. Motion by Mrs. Weber seconded by
Mr. Williamson to approve the request. Motion carried.
Council also approved the payment of a bill for 8 1,0]0.9] for the Police pept. Radar
equipment.
Mr. Klos ky made a request for two pick up trucks for Mr. Fisher. Moved by Mrs. Weber
seconded by Mr. Crenshaw to allow Mr. Fisher to send out for bids. Moti oncarri ed.
Mr. pol9ner was agafn present to request a donation from the City for the retarded
adult program. Mr. Davis advised council he did not think it legal to make donations
but he could get a ruling from the Attorney General. Moved by Mrs. Weber seconded by
Mr. Williamson authori ling Mr. pavfs to contact the Attorney General. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mrs. Webe//rjj to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried
