A work session wa held by City Council at 1:30 on February 13th.
Present: E.E. Williamson, Dick Crenshaw, B.L. Helms, Wm. Kl os ky, Mayor Jaques.
Absent: 6. N. Ferrell
Mr. Logan Browning was present and gave informanti on on Revenue Sharing. He out-
lined procedures and made re mmendations regarding sa

The Longwood City Council met in regular session February 15th. at 1:30 p.m.
Present: All Council Members, Mayor B City Attorney.
Meeting opened with prayer by Mayor Eugene Jaques, followed by Salute to the Ft aq.
Minutes of previous meeting approved with one co rection, the salary of the Bookkeeper
s houltl be ; 6.240.00 instead of ; 6,200.00 per yr.
Correspondence reatl by the Li ty Clerk.
1. Letter fran Semf note Coun 4v School Board -Re: The school mil lage election on
Tuesday March 13, 1913, requesting the City Council to atlgpt a Resolution aDProvi ng
this endeavor.
2. Letier Re: Oevons hi re S/0. requesting fi na7 acceptance of the S/0.
3. Letier from Glace 8 Radcliffe, Inc. -Re: Highland Hills 5/D. The engineer again
strongly re nmmnded that the two swat es be eliminated 8 the storm water piped under
the road. When this fs done the city should accept the plans for the project con tin9ent
upon the developers fvrni shi ng to the city the necessary performance bond.

1. Logan Browning spoke on obtaining Federal Funds, also explained procedures far
State 8 Federal Revenve 5b r ri ng. Moved by Nr. Ferrell s condetl by Mr. Helms to table
the matter for three weeks for council to study. Moti onecarri ed.
2. Walter Sutter Re: Variance of 2 ft. on his property located at 895 No. Hwy 421.
Mr. Sutter stated that after a title search of the abstract an Internal Improvement
Funtl easement had been found that effects his property 8 building. Mr. Sutier requested
a 2 ft, varf an ce. Mayor Jaques re nmended a public hearing be scheduled on the matter.
Moved by Mr. Helms seconded by Mr. Crenshaw to seta public hearing March Bih. at 1:00
p. m. on the request. Motion carried.
3. Mr. Kenneth Schraw Re: Building on 15 ft. Lot in R-2 Zone. Mayor Jaques recoimnended
a building permit be granted [o Mr. Schraw.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw to issue a building permit to Mr. Schraw. Motion died for lack -~

Mayor Jaques re mnentled that the final plat of the Moorings S/D be accepted and he
be authorized toosf gn the Di at.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell to accept the final plat of the
Moori n9s S/D with additional 30 ft. R/W on Slade Or. 8 the Mayor be authorized to
sign the plat. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Helms authorizing the City Clerk to place the
funds in the Paving fund checking account into Certificates of Deposit. Motion
ied.
TherLhai noon announced a work session for February 26th. of ]:3o p. m.
Mr. Tom Alexander on Cable T.V. Mr. Alexander stated that on March 31, 19]2 the
Federal [oimnuni cations System only permitted them to give 3% on a table Franchise.
After the system is n operation the City may approach the Federal Conmuni cats ons
System and request an additional 2%. Moved by Mr. Lrens haw seconded by Mr. Nelms
to table the matter until February 23rd. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Wil li dmson to accept Progress Report M 5 on
the Water System Improvements, Mayor be authorized to sign said report. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw s < ntled by Mr. Ferrell uthori zi ng the Mayor to sign the water
apPii cation for Sandl ewood 5/D. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Crenshaw authorizing the Attorney to prepare
a Resolution for the Durpose of making app? ica tion to the Oept. of Pollution Control
For study of sewage facilities, loans for intri um comprensi ve study, local government
agency loan.
Mr. Crenshaw, Nelms, Ferrell, Klo s ky voted yes- Mr. Williamson voted no. Motion carried.
Moved by thr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell authorizing the Attorney to prepare a
Resolution supporting the 4 mill tax for schools. Mr. Davis agreed to do so without
cost t0 the City. Moti pn carried.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell authorizing the Mayor to sign the Contract
with Dearborn Electronics, Inc. 8 Skate Li ty for Fire Protection. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell to purchase eq of Dment for the Ff re Dept.
from Harold's Sales 8 Sevi ce in the amount of 5 2,]21.9]. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Ferrell that in the future all Bids must be
sealed Bids, and are to be opened at a regular council meeting. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell to transfer Ray Lef bens perger to the
street department as the street department had,. a salary of 5 140.00 per week, a
period not to exceed 90 days, until the budget can be amended. Mr. Crenshaw, Ferrell
Kl osky voted yes- Mr. Williamson voted no. Motion carried.
Mee ti n9 with city empolyees far Monday Feb. 19th. at 8:00 A.M. to discuss their duties
was announced by Mr. Crenshaw.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw that Fire Chief Lonmler be appointed as Ci vii Defense Coordinator
and Ralph Fisher as Alternate. Motion died for lack of a second.

Mr. S. Joseph Davis, Jr. Li ty Attorney an nced his resignation e£fecti ve April
1, 1973. A written resignation will be sent to Council soon.
Moved by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Crenshaw to adjourn the meeting. Motion
