The Longwood Li ty Council met in regular se on January 18th. at ]:30 P. M.
Present: All Council Members, Mayor 8 City Attorney.
Meeting opened with prayer by Mayor Eugene Jaques followed by Salute to the Flag.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Williamson to approve the minutes of the
preeceding Council meeting. Motion carried.
I. Correspondence read by the Li ty Clerk. A letter from the Sanford Chamber of
Loimnerce stating that Cities have recently passed Ordinances requiring permits to
ve trees, and requesting Longwood Council Members to consider passf ng such an
Ordinance.
2. Letter Fran Seminole County Schooi Board requesting every incorporated Municipal
Goverrmient to investigate the 1e9a1 ity of supplementing Seminole County Oi ztri ct
BcM1OO is capital outlay budget by requiring developers, builders & contractors to:
A. Purchase & deed to the Seminole County District School Board sufficient
acerage, within or without their development, for school sites or for school use.
B. Provide an appropriate amount of money per housing unft in each tlevel opment
or project to help defray the cost of new school construction.
L. Provide means for any improvement to property or any in n the fair
market value of property to be placed on the tax roll immetli ately atrtheehi gher
evaluation rather than waiting until January 1 of each calendar year.
Letter from the Attorney General stating that no specific authority could be
found for con tri buti n9 to non-p rofft organt za ti ons by Hun ici pali ties.
4. Letter from Mr. Wm. Palm regarding construction of Longwood-Marpham Road
Water main extension. Mr. Palm recommended payment of $ 11,929.50 to Central Fla.
Water Systems, Inc.
A petition for an xa ti on into the Lf ty by Trim-Tic, Inc. was presented to Council
the petition had been certified by the Seminole County Tax Assessor. No actf on
taken on the petition.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Helms authorizing the Attorney to draft an
Ordinance annexing property consisting of approximately 40 acres to build a Mobf le
Nome Park, by Tom Radl of f.
Roli Lali Vote: Mr. Crenshaw, Helms, Kios ky- yes Mr. Williamson. Ferrell- no
Motion carried.
Mr. Wm. Palm, City Engineer stated [hat Federal and State fundi nq in grants and loans
as follows: Federal loans of $ 1.413.300, Federal grants $ 1,045.800, E.P.A. asked
for 8 606,000 in grants, the state will be reques tetl to loan $ 2]5,000, H.D.D. is
as ketl to loan 8 439,800. and $ 1, 139,30D. Mr. Palm stated that the entire city
would be sewered, except for three or four streets due to sparsity of houses built.
Mr. Palm recommended cp ncil approve progress report q 4, he and Mr. Fisher had
ewetl the project and agreed ail points in question had now been resolved.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Helms to approve the report 8 pay Lee Cons t. Co.
$ 31,608.00. Motion carried.
The Mayor requested co ncil delay the zoning board appointments for I week. Council
agreed to wait one week.

Mayor Eugene Jaques requested Council approve the present appoinvnents of City
Attorney, Police Chief 8 Municipal Judge for two years.
Moved by Mr. Helms seconded by Mr. Williamson to approve the present aDPOi ntments
of Li ty Attorney. Police Chief, Municipal Judge for lyear. Motion carried.
Dfoved by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Crenshaw to appoint Mr. Jaques to represent
Longwood at C. A. L.N.D Motion carried.
Mayor Eugene Jaques an need that the Bradlee-McIntyre house will be moved to Lhe
Ni storfc District fn Longwood within 6 weeks. Longwood Li ty Officials, Altamonte
Springs and Seminole County Officials will also be invited by the Central Florida
Society for Historic Preservation at the Longwood Hotel, Monday January 22 at 7: 3U
p. m.
Equipment for the Fire Dept. requested by Fire Chief. Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded
by Mr. Williamson authorizing the Fire Chief to call for bids on the equipment.

Hubbard as Utilities Clerk and agreed to advertise fora new receptionist, l
Council approved the separation of Janitorial s es for Pail ce Dept. and City
Nall. Mrs. Ann Werry to take City hall and accept Mr. Dowell's recomnenda tion for
someone to take care of the Police Oept.
Moved by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Helms ins tructi vg the City Supt. to prepare
sped ff <ati ons for a flat bed truck with dump body to be used for trash colt ection
Motion carried.
Mr. Tom Radl off requested his property on Hwy 434 be changed from R-1 to B-1BUi mess
zoning. Matter referred to the son inq board.
Moved by Mr. Helms seconded by Mr. Crenshaw to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
