The Longwood City Council met i special ses sio January 31st. at ]:30 p. m.
Present: All Council Members, Mayor Jaques, S. Joseph Davis City Attorney.
Meeting opened with prayer by Mayor Jaques, followed by Salute to the Fiag.
Correspondence ead by the City Lie rk. Letter from N.L.R. stating that the City's
bookkeeping could be met by adding three addf tional bars to the present machine, the
total i vestment required for the bars. prog ranmi ng a operator training is $ 600.00
No action taken on the matter at this time.
Mr. Wm. Palm, Li ty Engineer, gave a presentation on the subject of Win sor Manor 5/D.
Mr. Palm stated that the plans essentially confo nn to Cf ty standards with the exception
of the five cut-de-sac diameters in the 5/D. Four of them are ]4 ft. fn diameter 8 the
ning on s ]8 ft. Street widths in the newly platted ar conformance
with the S/DeOrdi nance. Rock Lake Rd. 8 Slade Or. are 22 ft. i wi dthn however, these
re previously platted rights of way. The three minor items in connection with the
pumping station which he recommended are as follows:
A. Pi ug valves should be substituted for gate valves.
B. Emergency pumping by-pass should be valved.
L. The control panel should have a generator receptacle.
Mr. Palm stated that the diameters of the respective cul-de-sacs do not meet City
requirements, they should not be considered "substandard"
Mr. Palm re mmended that the plans for this S/D be accepted by the co cil subject to
the developers making the changes regarding the pumping station equipment.
Mayor Jaques reconmended that council not delay the but l di nq penni is any longer.
Notion by Mr. Crenshaw tq release the building permits, accept the final plat of Wi nsor
Manor S/0 subject ro the engineers recomnendati on. Motion died for lack of a second.
Moved by Mr. Ferrell se onded by Mr. Helms to release the building permits on a
temporary basis untfl the entire councfl has reviewed the O1 ans, also subject to the
engineers approval.
Roll Lall Vote: Mr. Crenshaw, He ims, Ferrell, Klosky -yes Mr. Williamson- no. carried.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell to pay the bill of Carter Striping Service
for work on the Tennis Courts in the amount of $ ]60.00. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Helms to pay Council Chairman 8 Mayor's expenses
to acquire funds for the city as the opportunity presents itself, if both are needed

Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Helms to employ Mrs. Carol LaBOSSi ere as the

Voice vote as follows: Mr. Crenshaw, Helms, Ferrell, Klosky - yes
Mr. Williamson -np. Motion carried.
Movetl by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Helms authorizing the Mayor to sign the Wi nier
Park Tel. Co.'s permit to bury a cable in Longdale S/D on Hunt Rd. Motion carried.
The matter of the dispatcher's salary for Winter Springs was referred to the Mayor

and police committee for a decision.
Moved by Mr. Ferrell seconded by Mr. Nelms to adjourn the meeting. Motion

followed by developers
Work session on the proposed charter set for February 6th. at 7:30 p.m
Mayor requested permission to pars ee the Dossi bil ity of obtaining grants. Council
approved.
Mr. Williamson stated that the State 8 County were working on the drainage ditch
through Mr. Sch ube rt's property.
