The Longwood City Council met in regular se or. March 22 at ]:30 p.m.
Present: Wm. J. Kl os ky, E.E. Williamson, Dick Crenshaw, B.H. Ferrell, May
Eugene Jaques, 5. Joseph Davis, Jr. Attorney

Meeting opened with prayer by Mayor Jaques, followed by Sai ute to the Fing:
A Certificate of award was presented to former Police Chi et, R.E. Sweat by Mayor
Jaques.
The Attorney was requested to research the legality of the City paying $ 2,136.26,
the amount needed to re monthly benefits for Mr. Sweat's retirement.
Correspondence read by tM1evti ty Clerk:
1. letter from Sea Coast Construction requesting final acceptance of Devonshire S/0.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Williamson to approve the 3/D subject to the
engineers recomnenda tion. Motion carried.
2. Letter-Re: Highland Hit is 5/D. The en9i veer re mnended council accept the
plans subject to the developer's furnishing the ne sary performance bond Lo the
city. Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Vlil liamson to table the matter. Motion
carried,
3. Letter from Board of County Loomis si ~~ers, Re: Proposed bus transportation
system for Seminole County. the letter stated that the board had by un
sent agreed to participate with the OSO transportation authority in nreftort to
obtain a demonstration grant to operate a bus system in the urban ar saof the
qunty. the council took no action, pendi nq information as to the areas to be
served.
4. Request of the Winter Park Telephone Co. to bury a cable at M1tyrtle, Pine,
Oleander & Warren Streets in Longwood. Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell
authorizing the Mayor to sign the penni t. Motf on carried.
5. A maintenance agreement with IBM on the IBM Sel ectric 11 typewriter was presented
to co ncil by the Clerk. Moved by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr. Crenshaw for the
Mayoruto sign the maintenance contract. Motion carried.
6. Letter from prug Action Committee of Seminole County, [nc. requesting contribution
of $500. from the City Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Williamson to refer
the matter to the Attorney. Motion carried.
]. Letter-Re: The 31st. Annual Conference for Municipal Finance Officers 8 Clerks
to be held in Fort Lauderdale, APri~ 0-1~ Moved by Mr. Ferrell s conded by Mr.
Crenshaw allowing City Clerk, Onnie Shoma te, to attend the conference. Motion

8. Mr. Alex Nobbs, Jr.- Re: Columbus Harbor. Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by
Mr. Ferrell to approve the preliminary plat of Col embus Na rbmn subject to apPropiate
greements between the developer, L. A. Hobbs, Jr. nd the city wi tM1 reference ta:
(A) Paving acc ss streets- (B) Water extension- (C) Sewer, with the understanding
the city 8 developers will continue negotiations with the Mayor, with the assistance
of City Engineer & City Attorney, and other personall of the City.

10. The proposed agreement between the City of Lonqwood 8 iri m-Tic, Snc. Moved
by Mr. Ferrell s tootled by Mr. Crenshaw authorizing the Attorney to re-write
the contract into rpprati n9 the following:
(A) Trim-Tfc will contribute $ 100.00 per dwelling unit for sewe connection,
$ 50.00 per unit for water connection which is outside or sepa raterfrom water tap
meter, and $ 25.00 additional per unit for Police and Fire protection.
(8) Trim-Tic will continue to expand the plant, if ne sary, to se ve this pro$ect,
and will expand the present sewer plant, if neces sa ry,eto serve thisra rea, at Trim-
Tic'S expense.

developers outside of these subject parcels.
(0) Trim-Tic further agrees to place in trust the er tract B the se r system

continuous service to the city, be given 3 weeks pafd vacation. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Ferrell 5 conded by Mr. Crenshaw authpri zi ng the Attorney to draft an
Ordinance or Resolution, making the Mayor a~ni ni strati ve head of the city, the salary
to be E 5,000, per year, to be re-negotiated at the end of this fiscal year. Thfs
rangement to last only far the remainder of this fiscal year.

Lpgw Browning, fiscal agent, reported on bantling the city for sewage. Moved by
Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell authorizing the Bond Cpuncil to prepare a bond
Ordinance for water 8 se cordance with the fiscal agents reconmendati on.

Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Ferrell to employ the fi nn of Freeman,
Richardson, Watson, Slade, Kelley 8 McCarthy as Bond Council for the City of
Longwood. Motion carried.

"Skate City' for fire protection, Mayor to execute the contract. Motion carried.
