Public Hearing, December 7, 1972
A public hea ri n9 was held December 7th. at ]:GO pm. on the question of changing _
the zoning classification of the foil owing described property to-wit: Lots 6,7,
8,9, & 10. Wi idmere Manor, from the existing R-1 Resf dents ai to B-1 Business
Gi stri ct.
Present: Eugene Jaques, E.E. Williamson, William Klos kY, Gi ck Crenshaw, Mayor
Brown, Ned Julian, acting Attorney.
Absent: Mrs. Agnes Weber.
Meeting called to order by the chaff noon. Notice of public hearing read by the
Clerk.
Mr. James Gamble, requesting the change in zoning spoke in behalf of hfs request.
Mr. Gamble stated that the Droperty was first advertised as B-1 zoning and was
7 ater changed. He is now as ki n9 fora correction fn the zoning.
Mrs. Sandra Thompson stated that the residents on Evergreen Ave. are concerned
about the type of buildings ton~cons tructed on the property. She objected to the ~~
proposed change bei n9 approved without [he residents knowing far what specific
use of the land would be made. Mr. & Mrs. Rod Cable, Mr. Montzollo, & Mr. Peavy
were also concerned Mr. Gamble stated that anything he constructed on the
property would be within the B-I zoning.
Mayor recommended that the request be granted. Moved by Mr. Williamson seconded
by Mr. Crenshaw to change the zoning of the property from R-1 to B-1.
Roll Cail Vote: Unami nous, motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Kl os ky to adjourn the meeting. Carried.

A special session of the Longwood City Council was called to order at I:40p.m.
following the public bearing. a..
Present: Eugene Jaques, E.E. Williamson. William Klos ky, Dick Crenshaw, Mayor
Ken Brown, Ned Jut tan, acting Rttorney.
Absent: Mrs. Agnes Weber.
Meeting opened with prayer by the chairman, followed by Salute to the Flaq.
Correspondence read by the Clerk. A letter reques ti n9 the access road from "Sky-
lark" S/D to Nwy 17-92.
A petition for annexation by Mr. Tom Radloff to be used as a Mobile Hame Park.
Mr. Narlen Nans on presented plans for the Droperty. the proposed Mobile Nome
Park will be low density. Mr. Hanson stated that in his opinion the City would
not make a mistake in annexing into the Mobile Nome Park Ll ossification.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Kl osky to table the matter at this time.

Mr. Cplin D. Burgess, President RaMar Mfg. Lo. requested an extension for parking
a trailer on their property. Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Kl os ky to
extend the pe nnit for three weeks. NAtion carried.
Mr. James R. Carter requested a two month extension of his permit to park a trailer
at 265 Longwood Street. Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Klos ky to extend
the permit for 2 months. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. KLOS ky to place Ortli non ce N 315 on second
B f1na1 reading, by title only.
Roll Call: Unarm nous, motion carried, the Attorney read the Ordinance by title only.
Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Klos kY to adopt Ordinance p 315 on second 8
final reatlinq.

Mr. C. A. Nobbs, Jr. presen tetl a petition reques Ling Lot 12, Central Park to be
nnexetl into the City & zoned B-1 Business.

Moved by Mr. Crenshaw seconded by Mr. Kl os ky to annex Lot 12. Central Park into
- the City, zone same B-I Business, instructing the Attorney to draft an Ordinance
annexing the property. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Klos ky instructing the Attorney to draft
an Ordinance to pay the zoning board, Ordinance to be made retroactive to Nov.
1, 1972. Motion carried.
Council approved a larger typewriter to be purchased for use in the Municipal Court.
The County Engineer stated that the ditch on M5. Shubert's property is located on
private property, the County cannot participate fn the matter.
Moved by Mr. Lre nshaw seconded by Mr. Kl ps ky to restore Che ditch on Mr. Shubert'a
properly.

Mr. Crenshaw announced that open house will be held Sunday December 10th from
2 to.4 p.m. at the Li ty Hall.
~. The Fire Chief requested 1 standard Portable VHF-FM Transci ever, three channel
' capabf ii ty, one additional frequency. I10-120 AL desk charger, flexible antenna,
leather carrying case, speaker, battery in the amount of 5 462.50.
Moved by Mr. Kiosky seconded by Mr. Crenshaw to purchase the equipment as requested.
Motion carried.
