Meeting opened with prayer by Mrs. Sandra Thompson fol lowetl by Sx lute to the Flag. Minutes o£ previous meetings ware read & approved as read. Glace & Radcliffe, Inc. reported on their review of the schematic layout of the drainage of. the storm water run-off into Lake Gem as rxques tad by Mr. Walter H. Kuhrt. -Moved by Mr, Jaqvas sec ontled by Mr. Helms to approve the drainage request of Kuhrt e Associates, Inc. into Lake Gem since the natural run-off of storm water is not alterea, Rml call vote: onaminona, Motion parriea. Mr. Harry Goehring wanted to know the. requirements of installing sewer pi px in the area [n order to build 14 houses. The Attorney after reviewing th[: subdivision Ordinance stated that in his opinion the developer could not be legally required to install the sewer pipe since the land was already platted when the ordinance was adopted, Moved by Mrs. Thompson seconded by Mr. Jaques to table the request Por annexation into the City by Mr, & Mrs, Mason Facemize also Mr. & Mzs. Edgar Logue for-YUrther study. M.oti on carried. Thn Englnaer reviewed the request of Longwood North Subdivision ae propoeed by Ris tocrat Construction, Inc. Several discrepancies were cited by the Engineer. Subject to the correction o£ these deseri bed discrepancies the approval o£ both the plat and the construction plans be accepted by the Council, was the Engineer's recommendation. No action taken at this time due to the £act that the revised Plat had not bean presented to Council. Representatives £rom Liberty National Insurance Co,preeented s plan for hospitalization coverage Por City Employees. The Chairman appointed Ralph Fisher, H.L. Helms & the Mayor to meet with the 293 representatives and bring proposals for council`s study. The Engineer outlined the cost items for sewsrage in the City. Plant site should be First consideration, major item is land for the site, Second item would be Engineering in order to get a grant or loan offer. Mr.. Palm estimated the cost of a sewer system far Longwood to be 1.5 million dollars. 20 acres will be needed for the treatment plant. Mr. Jaques recommended work ss ssions of the City Council in order to take care o£ the work load, also an [nc rease in salary for the Council & Mayor, Moved by Mr. Jaques seconded by Mrs, Weber authorizing the Attorney to draft an Ordinance increasing the salary o£ the Council & Mayor from 50.00 to 100.00 per hio.
