The Longwood City Council met in regular session May 14, at
800 p.m .. with all Council members, Mayor and City Attorney present.
Neeting called to order by Sames A. Brown, Chairman. Minutes of
previous meetings wE,re reatl antl approved as read.
A Flag was presentetl to the City by the American Legion Post # SB3,
The Flag was ac ented Dy Mayor Xenneth H. Brown on behalf of the
City.
A r est Dy Mr. & Mrs. Mason Facemire for property on $,R• 434 to
to
be taken in- incorporated in the City of Longwood, was read by the
chairman, Nioved by Mrs, Thompson seconded by Mr. Helms to turn the
matter over to the zoning board for study and recommendation.

Mr. Stanley Largent on behalf of the District School Board of Seminole
County was present to explain the drair~agE: problem at Lyman Nigh
School. The property needed to 3rain the school property is not
owned by tRe City oP Longwood. Moved by Mr. Scott eeconded Dy
Mr. Williamson instru ding tRe City Attorney to contact the owner 1n
order to obtain an additional 2$ ft, o£ proparty in order to solve
the problem.

A letter Trom the board of commissl oners of the Suburban Fire Control
district o£ Seminole County was discussed.
Moved by Mrs. Thompaon secondetl by bir. Williamson to invite a
representative to be present at the next regular session oP the
council in order to obtain more inPormati on on the matter. Motion
carried.
Hills on the Wipe & Fittings were opened and read. Firms bidding
were as follows,

paving of Lflke Ave. & Oleander Street before the Final payment

A letter from A.E. O'Nea 11 Ass ociatee, ?nc. regarding the up-
dating of the water & sewerage, also preparing & vn-dating the
City Map was read by the chairman. Moved by Mr. Scott seconded
by Mr. Williamson authorizing A.E. O'Nea11 Associates, Inc. to
proceed with this work as soon as possible. M1;o ti on carried,
Mr. Fi shex reported on the pipe. & fittings bids. McWane. Pipe Co,
submittetl an incomplete. bid and his recommendation was not to
consider that Did. Hughes Supply Co, was the low Di rider with B to
10 weeks delivery. Moved by Mr. Helms seconded Dy Mr. Williamson to
accept the bid of Hughes Supply Co, in the amount of $ 4,722.93
less disc. Motion carried.
Mx. Fisher recommended the bid o£ Hurnup & Sims For the 18 in.
casing be accepted.

way deeds for the extention of Markham Road to S.R. 434, over to the
City Attorney to be recorded.

fire dept. to burn an old building located behind the mean bldg,
located at 34q East Sanlando Springs Or, provided Mr, John Thompson
nay the cost of the Attorney oropairing a document reliving the City
of any liability. Motion carried.

Ordinance # 229 was read by the chairman.
Moved by M11rs. Thompson seconded by ttr. Williamson to over-ride the
Mayor's ve .o of ordim nee // 229.
Roll Call Vote: Mr. Helms, Mrs. Thompson, PAr. Williamson--yes
Mr. Scott, Mr. Brown--no Motion carried and Ordinance # 229 was
passes over the Mayor's veto.
Moved by Mrs. Thompson seconded by Mr. Helms authorizing the City
Attorney to prspare an ordinance with intent to annox a portion of
S.P.. 427 South to the Seaboard Coast Line ft.R, Right of way and
Seminole B1'vd from S.R, 427 East to Hwy, 17---92, all 17-92 from
the North Boundary oY Lox:gwood to the General S.C. Hutchinson nark- '
way and all ].7-92 from the South boundary oP the Ci ty vo the South
boundary of Semittola B1!vd. Motion carried.

Estimates on fencing the property around the new watfr tank, City
Garage & Shu££le--board court with chain link fence was read by
Mr. Fisher. Moved by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Scott authorizing
Mr. Fisher to purchase the fence For the bfst price.

Mr, Fisher recommended the bid o£ Southern paving Co. be
ac ented in the amount of $ 12,029.28 for tho re-surfacing of the
streets in Longdale and a portion of Oleander & Marvin.
Moved by Mr. Scott seconded by Mr. Williamson to accept the bid of
Southern Paving Co. Inc.

Moved by Mrs, Thompson seconded by M.r. Helms to elect Mr. E,E, Williamson
to serve as Vice-Chairman of the Longwood City Council to act in the
absence of the chairman.

board along with interested council members to begin a sub-division
study For the city. Motion carried,

that he had requested a s. ial session be called bncausf: he had
received a pe. ti ti on from. Pour land owners requesting to be annexed
into Longwood also requesting Nwy 1~-92 Prom its intersection with
the South Corporate boundary line of the City of Longwood to the
Southerly Intersection with the South Boundary line o£ Seminole
Houv'ld extended East, to be annexed into the City.
Moved by Mrs. Thompson seconded by Mr. Williamson to place Ordinance
q 231 on first reading.
Roll call vote, Vnaminous, motion carried, and the Attorney read
the ordinance. annexing the requested a ,erties into the City of
Longwood.
