Mrs.r G.E. Strickland complained about thE: condition of the lot
adjoining her p _erty on E. Orange Ave., also thn Church pro psrty
on Palmetto Ave. She asketl that Ordinance d 207 be enforced reoulring
the Church property be cleaned and the adjoining lot be mowed,
Mr. Sam Hodge owner of the adjoining property on Orange Ave, stated
that the property would be mowed. Mayor Brown instructed the Police
Chief to contact the person in charge o£ the Church on Palmetto to
have the matter taken cam of.
Mr. A.H. Gaede from Florida Public Utilities wanted a franchise with '..
with the City of Longwood for his company to distiibuts natural gas.
Moved by N:r. Williamson seconded by Mr. Scott to follow Mayor Brown's
recommendation to turn the £ranehise agreement aver to the. City

June JO at 7,j0 p.m, for the purpose o£ granting varrances on Lot sizes
in the R-2 Residential zonE. as requested by Kearney Dev.CO., Austin
Dev. Co., k.Mr. Mason Facomire. Motion carried.

ation o£ the zoning board on changing lot sites in the R--2 zone to 75 ft:

No action taken on Mr, Fac emire'e request for his prom rty on W Hwy 494
to bx taken into the city at this time. Mayor Brown requested time to
contact residents in the arez to sae if anyone else was interested in
coming into the city and, take all property in at the same time. The

A letter from the City oY Altamonte Springs re4uesting Longwood
Officials to consider entering into a temporary arrangement £or
housing Municipal prisoners was read in full by the chairman.
The council members upon the rec ommendatlon o£ the Mayor & Police
ChisY denied this request.
A lett<!r from the City Supt, regarding the trash collec ti on and
recommending a franchise for garbage & trash be let out for bids
was read in full by the Mayor. Mayor Hrown rec ommonded that Mr.
Fisher, City Attorney & Council members study the matter & make a
recommendation.
Moved by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Scott to install a water
fountain in the police dept, as requested by the Mayor.

Mr. Hal D. Eubanks £rom Protector Security Center Snc. with a
proposal to install a network for audible visual alarm control
cabinets in the Longwood Police dept. was present to explain the
system. Moved by Mr. Wi 111amson seconded by Mr. Scott authorizing
proctector security center Snc. to install the system in the police
dept. without cost or obligation to the city, Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Williamson sec ended by Mr. Helms to advertise for bids
for 1400 ft. of 6 inch pipe & assessorres £or installitation on Lake
Ave,. Hi ds to be returned by July 9th.
