The Longwood City Council sat as an equ ilizing board February
3. 1970 at 730 P.M .. £or the owners of property to be assessed
for special improvemenffi of Laka Ave. & 0loander St. or other
interested pere ons to appear and be heard as to the advisability
of making such improvements & as to thf cost thereoS, the manner
& method of payment.
Present, James A. Brown, R.A. Scott, H.L. Nelms, Sandra Thompson,
Mayor Henneth R. Hrown, Jr. S. Joseph Davis, Jr. City Attorney.
Absent, E.E. Williamson
Meeting called to order by Chairman James A. Brown, the notice
of public hearing as adverti sad in tho Sanford Herald was read
by the City Clark.
Mr, Hixon Eidri dge inquired as to the cost per ft. and the method
o£ payment. Mr. James Kelley questioned the increase in cost
from $ 2.24 to $ 2.30 per ft. The Attorney stated that several
hundred dollars in contSngencies had to be added. Mrs. Cyrus
Feinald wanted to know whethor or not a certain numbor of
property owners had to give consent for the paving. No one
stated any objections to the proposed paving project.
Moved by Mr, Scott seconded Dy Mr, Helms that a resolution be
adopted paving Lake Ave,. from its intersection with State Rd. 427
to its intersection with So. Dak Street and Oleander St, Yrom
its intersection with Lake Ave. to Its inters ec ti on with Wildmere
Ave.
Ro11 Call Vote, Unaminous, Motion carried.
Chairman Brown then resolved the equalizing board.

Mayor Brown to execute the construction contracts for the paving.

k 400 validating machine for the price of $ 1.50.00

The Cemetery Committee was assthorized to look into the mattes of
having a new map drawn, also to check on prices.
Moved by Mr. Scott seconded Dy Mr. Helms to adjourn the meeting.
