Meeting called to order Dy the chairman, minutes of previous meetings
were read & approved as read.
Tho Attorney read the roc omm sndation from the engineering firm regarding
the paving & drainage cY Lake Ave. & Oleander Street.
Moved by Mr, Scott sec ondetl Dy Mr. Hrown to accept the bid of Houdaille-
Duval- Wright Co. upon the roc ommendation of the engineer in the amount
of $ 15,561.69

The Oath o£ Office was administered to the following newley elected
Councilmen by Mayor Kenneth H. Hrown, Jr.
Mrs. Sandra Thompson, B.L. Helms, E.B. Williamson.
Mayor Hrown took the Chair and called the meeting to order. All Council
members, Mayor & Attorney were present.
Ballots were cast and James A. Brown was elected Chairman by a 4 to i
vote. The meeting was then called to order Dy Chairman Brown.
Moved by Mr. Scott seconded by Mrs. T Wmpson to place Ordinance # 227
on first reading,
Roll Ce11 Votes Unaminous, motion carried. The Attorney road Ordinance
# 227 in foil, an Ordinance re-v onvng the property of Winn-Dixie Store
& WobD•s Drug Store.
Moved by Mr. Helms seconded by Mr. Scott to adopt the Ordinance.

The Attorney reported that Mrs. Cochrane had agreed to sell the property
a dj of ring the City Garage & WareRpuse, providing the City pay For all
expenses involved, including Rer Attorney's fees, Moved by Mr. Scott
seconded Dy Mr. Helms instructing the Attorney to proceed with the
purchase of the property, the cost not to exceed $ 6,500.

Mayor Hrown recommended that the accountants Fitzpatrick & Harts ock '
De invited to a meeting with the City Council on Sanuary 15th at
~, 30 p.m. to discuss the recommendations oP the audit.

Mrs. Ann R11ey complained about the water problem near her property
on East Bay Ave. The matter was referred to the City Supt. £or
investigation.
The Attorney stated that he was rn the process of tlra£ti ng rules and
regulations for a voning Doard.
A letter from Royal F. Chamberlin regarding his dismissal £rom the Pol ice
Dept. was read in Pv 11 by Councilman E.E, Williamson. The letter
stated that mr. Chamberlin had not submitted hie resignation and
would not rear gn £or errors not committed by him. The letter
also stated that Mr. Chamberlin had asked for and was promised an
opportunity to meet with & discuss the matter with Chief Sweat, the
Mayor & City 0£ficials. The Mayor stated that a public hearing will
De granted a s Chief Sweat i released Yrom the hospital.in ~ 1 i
order to "clear theaa>r aDput the whole affair". Mr. Williamson stated
that he wanted both me _ sent at the same time when the hearing was
held.

Mr. David Meadows wanted to know i£ he was expected to build a wall or

the Longwood City Council met in a special session January 15th at
770 P.M.
All Council members, Mayor &. City Attorney were present.
Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Betts approached the Council For permission to park
a house trailer on the grounds of the First Baptist Church.
Moved by Mr. Scott sec ontled by Mr. Helms to grant Mr. & Mrs Betts a 3
weeks permit to park the trailer as requested. Motion carried.
