the Longwood City Council met in a special session January 15th at
770 P.M.
All Council members, Mayor &. City Attorney were present.
Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Betts approached the Council For permission to park
a house trailer on the grounds of the First Baptist Church.
Moved by Mr. Scott sec ontled by Mr. Helms to grant Mr. & Mrs Betts a 3
weeks permit to park the trailer as requested. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Helms seconded by Mr. Scott for Chaj.[man Tames A. Brown
~l 2 to sign all checks on behalf o£ the City and to be countersigned by
City Clerk Omie R. Shomate. Motion carried.
Moved by Mrs. Thompson seconded by Mr. Helms to appoint
S. Joseph Davis, Jr. as City Attorney:£or the ensuing year, upon
ithe recommendation of Mayor Brown. Motion carried.
Harold Harteock C.P.A. was present regarding his recommendations
madp to the City Council as a result of the Audit. Mayor Brown
suggested each Council member study the recommendations as suggested
by Mr, Hartsock.

The assessment roll on the paving of Lake Avo. & Oleander Street was
prepaired & presented to the City Council by the City Clerk, Moved
by Mr. Scott seconded by Mrs. Thompson that the roll be accepted

setting a public hearing to bo held February 3, 1970 on the paving
o£ Lake Avo, 4 Oleander Street, at which time interostad parties may

the property adjoining tho City garage upon examination of ti tlo &
approval by the Attorney, the purchase price of $ 6,500. including
all costs, giving the Council Chairman & City Clerk authority to
sign the check £or purchase of Lots 102-102}_103-103 of Longwood.
