CCMtg06-12-69~~'~' _` Regular Session°June 12th, 1969 The Longwood City Council met~in regular session June 12th at 8:00 p.m. Present: H.A. Scott, Eugene Jaques, B.H. Ferrell, James A. Brown, Mayor .Kenneth H.~Brown, ~. Joseph Davis, Attorney. Absent: E.E. Williamson Meeting called to order by Mayor Brown actir.~chairanan. 1'Ai notes of previous meetings were by the City Clerk./ Moved by I~.x. Jaques seconded by Mr. Ferrell to accept the minutes as read. I~Iotion carried. Ntr. David Meadows was preser_t regs.rding a building permit to construct multiple buildings on ildmere Ave. The City Attorney ruled that ordinance ~# 201 that had been passed by the Council in 1968,. allowing multiple units was invalid because it did not provide for a classification for this type of construction. Moved by Mr. Ferrell seconded by Mr. Scott for Council to°.take the initial steps to zone the property as it should be, to correct the error in ordinance ~ 201, to amer_d the zoning ordinance 143 properly establishing a classif ication for multiple dwellings, including Lots 9 through 14 of Block 6 of the Amended Replat of ildmere in said classification with living area of 920 sq. f t. per family unit. Motio~3 carried. The~Attorney was instructed to advertise the s~.bove motion in the Sanford Herald & a public hearing be set fot July 1, at 7:30 p.sr. NIr. J.R. Hattaway requested a crzange in zoning to allow t?ffice building on Lots 3-4--5 of the Farmer's Addition. A meeting of the Council ~ zoning board was scheduled for Tuesday preceeding the _- next regular session of the council to discuss. the zoning of Hwy. 434 frown its intersection with Hwy 427 East to Grant Street, setting forth a classification to a11ow office buildings ~ professional bldgs. The council turned down.Mr.' Hattaway's request for a. selvage disposal plant on N. Hwy X27. Nir. Hubert Gipson stated that there: was a trash problem. in the City. He stated that an ordinance should be adopted setting forth he method of collecting trash and the days.to be picked up. Igo action was taken on the matter. Mr. Rowley ~g~in complained about-the saw dust blowing over his business locatedf:.n -the South ,, end- of the City _and stated that it was s fire haz~.rd,; The matter was ref erred to the fire. dept, for investbaton. Moved by Mr, Scott :seconded by Mr. Brown to advertise a public f hearing for July 10th at 7:30,; p.m.'. Bending legal-description of tYr~e property around the American ~7ood.Produ~ts from R-2 Residential to Industrial. Motion carried. , Mayor Brown agreed to write a letter to the Central Garbage Co. due to the many complaints regarding their services in picking up the garbage in the City.. also the matter of revoking the occupational license of the Co. was discussed. Councilman James A. Brown submitted a Plat for council's s.pproval to be known as Evergreen P1~ce. Loved bq Mr. Scott seconded by Nir. Ferrell to accept the Plat, the City Supt. to set the grade for the street and Mr. Brown to assume the cost of the street paving. Roll call vote: Unaminous, motion carried. Moved by Mr. Jaques seconded by Mr. Brown to employ a person to clean the Police Bldg. for the remainder of this fiscal year for $ 25.00 per Mo. Motion carried. A letter from Rev. Jack Lindsay asking for permission to park a house trailer on Church grounds for the last two weeks in June was read by rSayor Brown. The council turned down the reguest. 1~ A letter .from the Mayor of Altamonte Springs regarding the proposed "discontinus.nce of service in Miaitland by the ~~eaboard boast Line ~tailroad Baas reed by Mayor Brown, Moved by M~'. Scott seconded .byf Mr, Jaques to join with Altamonte Springs c~ adopt ~ resolution to 'the public ~erviee commission & the Seaboard Coast Line 8.~. requesting railroad service in Altamonte be made available should the service in Maitland be discintinued. Motion carried. Moved by Mr. Ferrell seco~aded by Pte. Scott, authorizing an. appraisal of the property East ~ ~~st of the City Garage. Motion carried. ~'he f inarace• committee requested .the budgets .from all depts. to be turned in by July 10th. - Moved by Mr „ Ferrell seconded by Mr. Br©wn to accept the finincial statement ~ pay the bills.
