Present: L,E.`~iliia~nson, H.A, Scott, Eugene Jaques, James A, Brown, B.H. Terrell, S., Joseph Davis Jr, City Attorney. Meeting called to .order by_Chairrnan illiasnson who announced that the first order of business would be to install Kenneth Fi. Brown Jr. as Mayor. Mr. Brown received the oath of office. from S. Joseph. Davis Jr. City Attorney, Mr, Brown assumed his duties as Mayor and stated that he would work with the Council and the Citizens of Longwood l00 per cent, and dedicate himself in trying to-make Longwood a better place to live, The meeting was called to order and minutes of precious meetings were read and approved as corrected. Mr, A.~?. Gaede appeared before the council to re-subzznit application for natural gas. Ms. Gaede stated that the City has much to gain if the franchise for natural gds was signed, and-that the.. operation could be -~~ta.rted:.` within 12 months. The franchise was turned over to Mayor Brown far study. IaTrs, Naomi Brinker complained about the condition of lots adjoining her propsrtq on East Palmetto Ave. She stated that large rats came from the weeds and rubbish on these lots-and that she was afraid for her grandchildren to play in the back yard because of these rats,. She wanted to know why Ordinance No, i2 could not be enforced, requiring the. owner to .clean off the property, The City Attorney requested time to .study the ordinance and make .~ :~~~ .~,. ~-.~ recomr,~endations to the council as the best wa.y to proceed under this ordinance.
