Stephenson, Attorney AbsQnt: Eugene Jaques Meeting called to order by the chair?~an who announced that the purpose of this meeting was to appoint a new police chief., Mayor Lor~nann stated that with the majority of Coi.xncil present he had interviewed several applicants. Two applicants were found to ©e suitable. ~o. ~. was Gerald L. Pierce from TitusvillQ, Fia. ~?e is a young married man 28 yrs. of age sands 5 ft. ~. in. tall weights 200 Ibs, well built very neat appearance. He is wall trained in municipal law enforcement, having attended various schools ~ academy's.. X30. 2 .choice ryas an older ma.n, retired police officer from Chicago, I11. Nio~tTed by Mr. Scott seconded by Mr. gown. to appoint Gerald L. Pierce as police chief on a temporary basis, the permenant appointment to take pl~.ce at the newt regular session of the City Council.
