Regular Session August 3, 1967
The Longwood City Council met in regular session August 3, at 8:00 p.m.
Present: E.E. Williamson, H.A. Scott, Eugene Jaques, Donald Conway,
Paul Maloney, Mayor Lormann , Gene R. Stephenson, Attorney.
Meeting called to order by the chairman, minutes of previous meetings.
were readand approved as read.
Mr. A.E. O'Neall was present and presented the contract for the feasibil-
ity study for city sewerage. The contract calls for topographic snrveys~
building surveys,. population figures, financial information and other
data as required to prepare a f easibility study and master plan for
water and waste water facilities for the study area. All existing
facilities are to be taken into account and included in the study. This
report not to exceed ~ 3,000.00., The completion .date to take from 3 to
4 months, "preferrably 4 months.
Moved by Mr.~ Scott seconded by Mr. Maloney to accept the proposed contraci
of A,E. O'Nea11 & Associates, Inc. for the feasibility study;...

Mr, Joseph Donnelly was present and stated that the Boy Scouts had no
place to meet and that~a portable building had been offered-them if it
could be moved onto city property, The board .took the matter .under
advisement.
A letter from the Suburban Fire control district requesting the Longwood
~~re Dept, 'to participate in providing protection to. the portion of the
district North of North Street, East of I-4 and South of State Road 434
in the Rolling Hills area, was read,, The fire dept, was asked to state
a charge for this service.
Moved by Mr. Maloney to enter into a one year contract for $ 3,000.00,
F Motion died for lack of a second. Mr., Jaques recommended that the matter
be turned over to the Fire Chief & fire Committee for reeom€nendation,
after. a study. of the area was conducted.
A letter ,from the Attorney representing the Zartman Family requesting
a settlement by the City due to the opening & use of Credo Street ~
across their property was read. The Council iristrctcted the City Attorney
to offer MR. & Mrs. Zartman $ 25C.OC for settlement upon a motion made
by Mr. Jaques & seconded by Mt. Maloney Roll call vote was unaminous,
Motion carried.
The police report was read by Mayor Lormann.
The Seminole County Humane Society contract was read in full. Moved by
Mr. Maloney seconded by Mr, Scott to enter into the contract. Motion
carried.
The Letter of resignation of Richard Zartman as building inspector was reap
by the chairman. Moved by Mr. Seats seconded by Mr. Conway to accept the
resignation with regret. Motion carried. Moved by Mr. Maloney seconded
by Mr. Scott to appoint R,a1ph Fisher as temporary building inspector.

Moved by Mr. Conway seconded by Mr. Maloney-to traris~fer$ 7,SQQ,00 from
the Excise Tax & Revenue Imp. Fund into the General Fund. Roll call Vote
was unaminous, motion carried.
The fire dept, report was read by Mr, Jaques. A motion was made'by Mr.
Jaques to accept the bid of Ward LaF'rance Co. for a fire truck for their
bid price of ~ 22,882.65. Moved by Mr, Conway seconded by Mr, Maloney to
table Mr. Jaques motion. .Roll call vote was unaminous, motion carried.
Mr. Lammler, Fire Chief, stated that ~5~ of the e€aergency calls received
by the fire dept. was due to kaeart attacks and recom~sended that the city
purchase two eanergency packs for the .police cars. Moved by Mr, Jaques.
seconded by Mr.`Scott to grant this request. Motion carried..
Moved by Mr, Jaques seconded by Mr. Scott to transfer $ 500afJ0 from
'the. paving into the general fund in order to finish the police building.

Special Session August 9, 1967., ,.
Tha Longwood City Council met in special session August 9th at 8:00 p.m.
Present: ~su1 Maloney, Donald Conway, H.A. .Scott, .Mayor Lormann
Absent: E.E. Williamson, Eugene Jaques
Meeting called to order by Paul Maloney, acting chairman.
Moved by Donald Contaay seconded by H.A. Seott to appoint G.E. Strickland
as building inspector alga zoning administrator.
`- Roll call vote was unam~nous, motion carried.

Fire chief Carl LoFnmler reported on the Suburban Fire control district
and recommended that the~Gommissioners and the three Municipalities get
to-gether to work out a solution.
Mayor Lormann suggested the City lookcinto the possibility of deferring
the bond that was due this year.
Moved by Mr. Scott seconded by dir. Conway to instruct the City Clerk to
write Mr, Arthur Stone Dewing regarding the deferrment of the bond that
will `' be due December 1 of this year.
.Roll call vote was unaminous, motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Conway seconded by Mr. Scott to raise the salary of
H.G. Bui~balough from the present rate of $ 1.75 to $ 2.GC per hr.
