An ordinance of the City of Longwood, F a, 'Entitled, An ordinance
,fixing th.e budget for the year 1967-68 was read in .full.
Moved by Mr. Scott seconded by Mr. Jaques to adopt the ordinance
with the stipulation that it be numbered and referred to as a line
. item budget.

salary to ~ 4,600 per year effective September 15, 1 967..

Subterranean termites were found coming through expansion joint
'betcaeen Clerk's office &; fire dept. The matter was referred to
Mr. Scott for correction.

statement & pap the. bills, ~yotion carried.
Moved by Mr. Maloney seconded by ~?r. Jaq_ues to adjourn the meeting
until September 14th. at 8:00 p.m. Motion carried.
Continued Session September 34, 1967.;
The continued session of the Longwood City Council was held Sept.
14th at $:00 p.m..
Present: Donald Conway, Paul Maloney, ~i.A, Scott, Eugene Jaques,
_ E. E: Williamson; Mayor. Lorrnann, Attorney Gene'R..Stephenson.
Meeting nailed to nrde~ by the chairman. Changes on a new
.occupational license ordinance for the city c~as discuasea by the
City Attorney, The attorney was instructed to prepare the ordinance
to be acted upon at a continued session to be held Sept. 28th.
Mr. Charles Mc Into~h from the Nationwide Insurance Co, was present
to explain House Bill No. `1243 & Senate Bi7.1 No. 1769 'recently passed
by the Legislature requiri.r_g Municipalities to pay the sum of
~ 10,000.00 should a police officer be killed in the line of duty.
IYir. McIntosh stated that a policy covering 19 employees could be
added for $ 10.00 per person per yr. Moved by Mr. Maloney seconded
by Mr. Scott authorizing the Attorney to write a letter to the
1Vationwide Insurance Co._ approving this additional insurance.

Bids`~eceived on Termite. control were opened & re~.d. Bids

Mayor Lormann stated that he had reviewed the budget ordinance
and-could not sign because it ~Tas not a workable budget & was

sign ordinances 195 & 196. Motion died for lack of a second.

of the City Charter to pass ordinances 195 & 195 over the Ntayor's
veto,
