Stephenson. ?Meeting called to order by chairman, minutes of previous meetings read & approved as read.. , An ordinance of the City of Longwood, F a, 'Entitled, An ordinance ,fixing th.e budget for the year 1967-68 was read in .full. Moved by Mr. Scott seconded by Mr. Jaques to adopt the ordinance with the stipulation that it be numbered and referred to as a line . item budget. Ro11 call vote was unaminous, motion carried. Moved by Msr. Jaques. seconded by Mr. Conway~thet since the vote was unaminous to suspend rules & regulations, pass the ordinance <------~ to second reacting to be read by title only. Roll call vote was ,~ unaminous, motion carried & the ordinance was read by title only. Moved by Mr. Jaques seconded by Mr. Scott to adopt the ordinance. Roll call vote was unaminous, motion carried. Subterranean termites were found coming through expansion joint 'betcaeen Clerk's office &; fire dept. The matter was referred to Mr. Scott for correction. Moved by,Mr. Maloney seconded by Mr, Scott to accept the finincial statement & pap the. bills, ~yotion carried. Moved by Mr. Maloney seconded by ~?r. Jaq_ues to adjourn the meeting until September 14th. at 8:00 p.m. Motion carried. Continued Session September 34, 1967.; The continued session of the Longwood City Council was held Sept. 14th at $:00 p.m.. Present: Donald Conway, Paul Maloney, ~i.A, Scott, Eugene Jaques, _ E. E: Williamson; Mayor. Lorrnann, Attorney Gene'R..Stephenson. Meeting nailed to nrde~ by the chairman. Changes on a new .occupational license ordinance for the city c~as discuasea by the City Attorney, The attorney was instructed to prepare the ordinance to be acted upon at a continued session to be held Sept. 28th. Mr. Charles Mc Into~h from the Nationwide Insurance Co, was present to explain House Bill No. `1243 & Senate Bi7.1 No. 1769 'recently passed by the Legislature requiri.r_g Municipalities to pay the sum of ~ 10,000.00 should a police officer be killed in the line of duty. IYir. McIntosh stated that a policy covering 19 employees could be added for $ 10.00 per person per yr. Moved by Mr. Maloney seconded by Mr. Scott authorizing the Attorney to write a letter to the 1Vationwide Insurance Co._ approving this additional insurance. -- Roll call vote was unamnous, motion carried.. Bids`~eceived on Termite. control were opened & re~.d. Bids received fram the following:. Fidelity P.xterrninating Co. A.rt drown Pest Controa,~?rkin c~ ~'alker. T~'alker Chemical Co was the Low bidder. Mayor Lormann stated that he had reviewed the budget ordinance and-could not sign because it ~Tas not a workable budget & was ~ ' not t~realisti c'i. Motion by Mr. Jaques i~~~~~ the Mayor to sign ordinances 195 & 196. Motion died for lack of a second.
