Meeting called-to order by the Chairman.
Moved by Mr.~Scott seconded by Mr. Jaques to adjourn the meeting.

Regular Session October 5, 1967
The Longwood City Council metin regular session October 5, at
8:flfl p.m..
Present: E.E. Williamson, Eugene Jaques, H.A. Scott, Donald
Conway, Mayor Lormann, Gene R. Stephenson, Attorney,
Meeting called to order by the chairman.. Minutes of previous
meetings read & apvroved as corrected.
Mr. Eddie Cundiff was_-present s.nd wanted to know what was being
done about the abandoned & dilap~cdated;~house on Fast PinE Ave..
also the Tyner property on East Lake Street. The matter was turned
over to the City Attorney to contact the owners regarding.the dis-
posal, of said properties..
Mr. Taylor Muir requested "dead end" signs be placed on Orange Ave:.
at Grant Street. The matter was referred to the street dept. and
police dept, for an opinion whethE~ or not it is a dead end street.
Mr. Muir also complained about the small water pipe on Orange Ave.
_ stating that he had no water pressure at his home. Referred: to
Ralph. Fisher, City Supt.
~' A resolution fron the State toad Dept. regarding a traffic light at
the intersection of State Roads 427 & 434 was read by the chairmen.
Matter referred to the City Attorney to contact the State Rd Dept.
for negoiation/.
Mayor L®rmann started that the ABC ,Liquor store had requested the
city to supply water to their establishment and 'the owners had
indicated a willingness to be annexed to the city. The. building is
lactated on 17-32 &~ Wiidmere Ave. about ?mile from the present City
limits. Bids were received frog? Davis meter & Supply Co. also from'.

the stor-e. ?'he matter was turned over to Mayor Lormann for further
investigation regarding .this matter. Police Chief Shinn stated that
several bids had been sent out for a new patrol car ar.d only one had
been-received. Seminole County motors sent in a did of ~ 2,39.$0.
Mr. Scott. agreed to call several dealers in order to try & get other
bids before a final decision is made. Chief Shinn rez~orted on the
need. of radios for the police dept. Mo~zed by Mr. Scott seconded
by Mr, Jaques to purchase radios for the police dept. from the
General Electric Co. for their bid price of $ 2,000.00. Roll call
vote was ur_ai~inous, oration carried. The named of a .dump truck for
the .street dept. was discussed. Moved by NIr. Cony.=ay seconded by .
Mr. Jaques to table the matter until the wore session is held. Roll
call vats was unaminous, motion carried.
Drainage the was requested on Qveretreet Ave. l~r. Jaques ..suggested
the natter to be ref erred to the street-dept. for action as they see
fit. l~fr. Scott ®~~~~~.=that the Tourist Club had approached hin
regarding the encolsure.of the present structure in the City Park in
order to hold their meetings during inclement waather. Matter. tabled
for further study. Mayor Lormsnn stated that.he had beer contacted
by t'~e A1tam~ante Springs Police Dept. for- use of .the City Jai.1 and
that they :zo9.zld. be willing to pav charges for each prisioner. Th-e

matter was. turned over to the Mayor. & City Attorney .for investigat~i,on
of the liability that could result from such an arrangement, Mayor
Lor$nann stated thafi he would like to help the
the responsibility would~be "too great".
Moved by Mr. Conway seconded by Mr. Jaques to
from the E.T.R.I, Fund into the General Fund.

Fire Chief, Carl Lomznler stated that•a batter

also .smoke cannisters was needed in the fire dept, He was requested
to obtain prices on a battery starter. Moved by Mr, Jaques seconded
by Mr, Scout to purchase 4 smoke cannisters. ;Motion carried..
Moved by Mr. Conway seconded by Mr, Scott to pay the bills & accept
° the finincial statement. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Conway seconded by Mr."Jaques to adjourn the meeting
subject to call. Motion. carried,
