E.E. ~r~illiamsan Absent; B.E. .Black Meeting called to order by the chairman. Minutes ®f previous meetings . read and approved as read. A letter from tfie Florida Industrial. Commission po~,nting out safety precautions that were r_ecessary at the water storage tank was read in full by the chairman.. moved by Eugene Jaques seconded .by E.E. Williamson to authorize'Jack Sharpe's Inc, to install a safety ladder cage on the water tank at their price of ~ 483,68, M©tion earried. Bids on the_pipe and fittings were opened and tabulated, Firms bidding were as follocrs: .~~erican Cast Iron Pipe Co,, B. Sc H. Sales, Inc,, Bavis Meter & Supply Co., Hughes Supply Co,, Johns-Manville Co., Kennedy Valve Mfg,-CO.,.and Southern Meter & Supply[ Co. Moved by Eugene Jaques seconded by Paul Maloney to table the 'oils for further study, Motion carried. A letter from the State Road Bept,,in answer to relocating the ditch on Lots 363-364-410 in Longwood. was read by the chairman. A letter from the Atlantic Coast Line R,R. Co. requesting the City to adopt a resolution agreeing to maintain water lines that had been installed under the railroad tracks near. the water tower was read by the chairman,• Moved by John.Deaton seconded by E.E. Williamson to instruct the City Attorney to prepare this resolution by the council. Motion carried. A letter from A,~,. C3'~Iea11 Associates, ihc, stating that the work by Jack Sharpe's Inc, for instailiation of the Aerator on the water tank was complete and recommended payment, Moved by Paul Maloney sacanded by ~E,E. i~illiamson to accept the statement from Jack Sharpe's in the amount of ~ 7,076.01 for payment. Motion carried, Letters of appreciation to Carl Lommler, B.L. Nelms & B.H. Ferrell for the years of service to the City while 1.~ serving on the council were read by the chairman. A letter frca~n Mr. V ~ Zvorykin regarding t~hh~.~drainage ditch Ncarth of the Longda.le.Subdivision was. read by the chairman....Moved by Eugene Jaques seconded by E.E. Williamson to turn the r~.atter over to the City Attorney for investigation. Motion carried. The-report from the Fire Dept. was read by Paul Maloney. Moved by Eugene Jaques seconded by John Deaton.,to send out request for bids on SOU ft. of I2 inch fire hose, using the same specifications used for the 22 in. bids to be in City ha11 by ~:30 P,M. Apri1 ?, 1906. Motion carried. Moved by John Deaton seconded by ~.E"~. ~iiiliamson to employ one radio ~ telephone operator for the police.degt. 12~hrs, per day 6 days per week for ~ IUO.~~ per month. Motion carried, Moved by Eugene Jaques seconded by Paul .Maloney to increase the streetlight on.~lest Pay Ave. pole ~~ 4BP-4.6 from 100 Lumin to 4.4Q0 mercury vapor, also to install 44®® mercury vapor Light on pole ~~ BP-3927 on East Land Ave. Motion .carried. ,Moved by Paul Maloney seconded by John Deaton to grant the I request of the ~Lerk to purchase 300 postal cards & one roll of.~~-_ stamps, the postal cards to be ,printed for. water bi11s.
