Ordinance No. 182 an~'Crdinance fixing the budget for the year 1g6~-66 was;read in full by the president. Moved by Ferrell seconded by Helms to adopt the ordinance-. Roll call: John Deaton:-no, Percy vdhite--nc, B.I. Ferrell-yas, B.L. Helms-yes, Carl Lommler-yes Pl~otion carried and ordinance 182 passed the first reading. Crdinance No. 183.an"Crdinance determing the amour_t and fix the rate of taxation-far the year 1g~5-66 was read in full. the president.. Moved by Helms seconded by Ferrell to adopt the ordinance. Crdinance_ ~o. 186 probihiting the erection of fences, shrubbe~~ trees, or plants on corner lots was read in full by the presi'~ent Mcved by Deaton seconded by Helms to table the ordinance for further study. Iviotion carried. A letter from Joseph R. Masek, requesting an additional portion of Reider Ave. to be considered when the street is paved. was read by the president. Mcved by Deaton seconded by Helms tc I file the request with the paving requests already received and (be placed in rnamerical order. Motion carried. A letter from Charles B. Sammet requesting the City to take necessary steps to enforce ordinance No. 12, requesting propf owners to clean the lots adjoining his property, read .by the. president. The City Clerk was instructed to notif;r the o~,~ne: to clean tT'ie lots. Bids on the Insurance opened and tabulated. Firms bidding wee as follows: Arnold, Griffin & Harper, Mitchell Insurance Co. ~ Al Davis Insurance Co. ~ Natior_wide Insurance Co. The Clerk was in$tru~ted to write a letter to the State Road Dept. makir_g this recuest~' - ~,~ Punkin c~ Co, to audit the city`s records for the fiscal year begir_ning:T~ovember 1; 1964 and ending October 1, 1965. Motion carried. T~Ir. Deaton stated the reason the voted against tree ordinances setting the milla~e and ="ixir_~ the budget at .the be~innin~ oi~ the meeting. T~ir. Deaton also read certified copies of legal documents regarding the drainage of Longdale. Triere-is a possibility that a large amount of money may be needed to tape care. of the drairLage ditch in the Lor?gdale subdivision. The documents states that tree ditc'r_ shall be no wider Irian- 4 ft. or deeper than 10 ft, The ditcri is now ~0 ft. wide ~. 10 ft. deep. Also the budget did not include a..iail. T~Ir.
