June 2, at &:00 p,m, A7.1 council members and the Mayor
ware present, Meeting called to order by the. Chairman and.
the minutes of :the previous meeting were read ar_d approved.
Bids for the: pipe and fire hydrants were opened and read by
R.C. Carlson, Upon tabulation and comparison the American
cast Iron Pipe Co, was-the low bidder with X1,30 per foots
on pipe; anal ~13,Li-~ each ~'or reducers, Moti on by R. C Carlsc
to accept. the: bid of the: American Cast Iron Pipe Cc, fora
1200 .feet of li inch mechanical joint. cast iron pipe and
eight() 6g~-" mechanical joint reducers as per their quo tat'
of Nay 27th, Seconded by H. A. Scott, i,otion carried,
~i7pon tabulation and comparison the R.D. S4eod Co, was .the
low bidder on fire hydrants with a bid of ~112,~-5 each.
Motion by H.A. Scott to purchase eight (~) ~F"x 3' fire
hydrants with steamer and two hose outlets, ecuiped with 6"
mechanical joint connections, as per their quotation of ~iay
29th, .Seconded by E.B. Hopkins, Motion carried,
A letter from the board of sdjustment:of the Longwood Zonin3
board was read by R.C. Carlson, This letter requested the
property of Mrs. Helen TrToodman known as "Stonecra~'~."
Associates Lots:10~-10~-105-1052-100-107 nocr zoned residen•
to be re-zoned industrial, stating that the board of adjustz
had approved the request. of Mrs, 'Woodman,
A petition against the rezoning. of said property was read b;
Mayor Lormann. Motion by R.C. Carlson for the: request of
the: property re-zoning be handled through the regular
channels,b.e advertised and a. date far a_ hearing be set,
Seconded by E. B, Hopkins, Motion carried.
Bids en the gasoline for use of the. town equipment were: op
and read by R, C. Carlson, The bids were tabled for furthe
information,
Reouests from the audience were called for at this time;
fir, Owens from the Owens Bros, auto body shop complained
about the: open ditches in the Longdale:subdivision used in
drainage, J.R. Grant also complained about these ditches,
Mrs, Hurt complained about a ditch on Oleander Street,
The Council agreed to meet ax.•d inspect the drainage ditches
on Monday June 13, at 9:00 A. M.
