The Longwood Town Council met in regular session
February 5 th, at 8:00 P. M. All,membe-rs were present.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Reiter appointed his commutes for the 1959®50 council
term.

Mr. La Bree and other members of the Longwood Jaycees
approached the council on property that might be leased to
them on whici~ to erect a building suitable for recreatior_al
purposes. The Jaycees were asked to submit plans to the=
council, then perhaps somethir_g suitable could be worked ou~
vin. Ro~ero thinks the torn should erect a building suitable
for all orginazations to use.
A. E. '[Tllrieh, a new commer to Longz;rood residing at &53
East Church St. presented his problem of a four foot chain
link fence enclcsir_g his yard, he stated that he did not
realize at the time he had violated the zoning. ordinance.
Tl~e fence section of the ordinance has been a subject of
controversey from the beginning and the council thinks it
will be amended..
vin. Haynie ask for speed limit signs to be placed on
Grant St. at Molnar and Church.
Mrs. Carhart thanked the totirn for cleaning around the
railroad depot.
Mr, Carlson made a motion seconded by Mr, Hopkins to
pay the various bills and accept the fii~incial statement
be accepted. T~otion carried.
Mr. Reiter adjourned the meeting uhtil February 19th.

ADJCUPSdED_ v~ETING..

The adjourned meeting of the council was held at 8.00
P. M. February 19 th, in the Town Hall. AS1 members were
preser_t. Chairman Reiter welcomed the visiting county
Commissioners. The Commissioners pledged their support to
the-Torn of Longwood in working and solving problems, and
are willing to cooperate in every possible way. Each
district in the county will have a no. 1 priority and this
will be met first. T'r?e~~ounty has employed an engineer to
assist ir_ building better roads.
The Jaycees submitted plans for their budding. Mr,
Reiter appointed R. C. Carlsor_ and E. B. Hopkins to
investigate the legal procedure before a final descision i~
made. Moved_by Mr. Hopkins seconded bt Mr. Williamson
to have the Totv~. Attorney draw up the electrical and
pltu~tbing code, also the occupational ordinance ready for
adoption by the council. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Williamson seconded by vin. Hopkins to adjourn
the meeting Motion carried.
