The Longwood Town Council met in regular session
February 5 th, at 8:00 P. n'I. All members were present.
vlinutes of the previous meeting were`'read and approved.

term.

Mr. La Bree and other members of the Longwood Jaycees
approached the council on property that might be leased to
them on which to erect a building suitable for recreational
purposes. The Jaycees were asked to submit plans to the`
council, then perhaps something suitable could be worked out
Mr. Rogero thinks the toib°n should erect a building suitable
for all orginazations to use.
A. E. T711rieh, a new commer to Longwood residing at 6~3
East Church St. presented his problem of a four foot chain
link fence enclosir_g his yard, he stated that he did not
realizE at the time he ha.d violated the zonir_g ordinance.
The fence section of the ordinance has been a subject of
controversey from the beginning and the council Thinks it
will be amended.
Mr. Haynie ask for speed limit signs to be placed on
Grant St. at Molnar and Church.
Mrs.. Carhart thanked the toT,~rn for cleaning around tine
railroad depot.
Mr, Carlson made a motion seconded by Mr, Hopkins to
.pay the various bills and accept the finincial statement
be accepted. Flotion carried.
Mr. F.eiter adjourned the meeting until February 19t<h.

Ths adjourned meeting of the council was held at 8:00
P. Ri. February 19 th, in the Town Hall. A11 members urere
present. Chairman Reiter welcomed the visiting county
Commissioners. The~Commisaioners pledged thew support to
the-Town of Longwood in working and solving problems, and ';
ors willing to cooperate in every possible way. Each i
district in the county will have a no. 1 priority and this
will be met .first.. Ths county has employed an engineer to
assist ir_ building better roads.
Ths Jaycees submitted plans for their building. Mr.
Fceiter appointed R. C. Carlson and E. B. Hopkir_s to
investigate the legal procedure before a final descision is
made. ?~iove.d-by Mr. Hoplins seconded bt Mr. Williamson
to have the Torn Attorney draw up the electrical and
plumbing code, also the occupational ordinance ready for
adoption by the council. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Hopkir_s to adjourn
the meeting Motion carried.
