The L ~igvrood Town Council met in regular session August 6th, at $:00 P, M.
Prese~t: R.,C._Carlson, H. A. Scott, E. B. Hopkins, E. E. Williamson

Mr. C lson acting as Chairman called the meeting to order,. Minutes of the:
previs meeting were read and approved.
Mr, H H. Hapnie requested a street light at the corner of Grant and ~ine St. I
Refereed to the Streit Committee. NIr. John Saunders requested Short St, be
grade Mr, Farina was instructed to grade Short St, as soon as possible.
NZrs. Pr,~^vers entered a complaint about dirt that had been dumped on Magnolia St.
This d'a.uses water to overflow onto her property.
P4s~, D ~~k Niyers: from the Better Billboard co. of Orlando requested permission to
erect signs on property is Longwood, The Council will look into the matter. i
Mr, C rlson read Ordinance X147 in full, An Ordinance to provide for the ~
issuari~ce, payment, duration, e~-pzratipn, transfer and revocation of"Occupationa~~
licen~ s: in the 'Town of Longwood, Fla.
Ivlotio by Mr, Hopkins seconded by Mr, Scott to instruct the Torn Attorneg draw
up a 1 ase between the Town of Long~rood and the Jr. Chamber of Commerce to erect
a buil~ing on the property they have ask for. Council approved,
Motion by Mr: Hopkins seconded by Nir. Scott forbids to be requested on 12 and
2 ton rucks, cab and chassis only, bids to be in thz Town Hall by 12:00 noon
August 20th, Motion carried. '
Motio ~ b~ Nfr, E. E. ti~filliamson seconded by Mr. Hopkins that Miller radio co, of
Sanfo• , be instructed to proceed with the-necessary change as laid down by the•
F. C. ~C. commission regarding the Longv~ood, police mobile unit, Motion carried,
Motion by Mr, Scott seconded by Mr; Hopkins that all delinquent water bills be
paid ~~~thin 10 days or service will be cliscontinued. Nlotion:~carried,
NIotior~ by Mr, Scott seconded by Mr,'Will$amson that-the various bilb~ be paid and
the f'~nincial statement be accepted, Motion carried,
Motior~~by Mr, Hopkins seconded by Mr, Scott that the bid by Johnny~s Gulf service
be ac~ pted for the next three months, provided the 3¢ Federal tax on gas and
the 6 ~on oil be returned to the Town of Longwood; carrse d.

Mr, Joseph Waits was present and. requested information on the paving of the
Street~~ Sn Longwood. Mr. Waits is especially-interested in the saving of Grant

The bids for the truck were opened and read by Mr, Carlson. Moved by Mr, Ca_rlso~
seconc~ppd by Mr: Hopkins to accept the bid of.~ vrickland- Morrison for a two ton
icruck `as quoted in their bid of August l~;~b ore placing order check price to
make.~Yre the Federal excise tea and State sales tax has not been included.

Counei~lman Carlson and Hopkins will meet with Mr, Gunby to complete the
negot'~ions for the loan to be used in paving the streets and improving the watea
works. '
