The Oouncil met in regular session February 6, 195$ at $ P.M.

Minutes of the regular session January 2, 195$ were and approved. t
Mr, Swafford brought up the matter of removing trees on a section of --
the Markham Road to make way for the paving,
Motior. by Mr. Johnson seconded by Mr. Williamson that the town s`~,and
the expense of removing trees at Stems corner $n the Markam Road,
Motion carried. ~
Mr, Blanchard of the zoning committee reported that they should have the:_I
zones established soon,
Mrs. Hunt discussed a ditch not draining properly and asked that some-
thing be dor_e about it. ?'~w=Referred to Street Committee.
Motion by Mr, Scott seconded by Mr, Williamson that the Long~rood Area
Jaycees be authorized to use the area South of Medical Funding for
playground use as per letter of February. Motion carried..
Motion by Mr, '~lilliamson seconded by pis, Scott that building permits
be issaed to: Forrest Barnes, George Raymond, Eli Ziegler, Theodore
Koulik, Harve Throne, Joseph Vanderv2er, F. B. Blanchard, P, W. Kelly, °.
J. ~. Baumholser, R. W, Zartman. Motion carried,
Re+r. Fetch asked if something could be done about the ditch running on
the East side and the South side of the new church building, as it is i
a hazard and also creates a problem for par~ang. Turned over to street --
committee. '"~
Mr, Arnold reported that beginning the middle of March this district will
be class A for fire insurance rates.
Ms. Carlson read Ordinance No. 137 entitled An Ordinance of the Town of
Lorgwoad, Florida, closing and vacating Myrtle Avenue, from its inter-
section with Palmetto Street and ~-~ongvrood Avenue, South to Florida St.
notion by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Reiter Ordinane No. 137 be
passed as read.

Motion by Mr. Scott seconded by Mr. Reiter that the varseous bi11s be I
paid and the financial statment be accepted. Motion carried ~
Mr. Carlson read Resolution No. i3k entitled°1A Resolution of the.Town
of Longwood,'Florida, authorizuag the borrowing of money for the recon-
struction and paving of Church St, in said town from its intersection ~ i
with Long~,rood Avenue, East to the town limits, and providing for the
issuance and execution of notes to secure said borrowed money, and author)
izing the pledge of the utility tax revenue and cigarettertax reveizue for
the payment of said notes." Motion by Mr, Scott seconded by i~tr, Reiter
that Resolution No. 131 be passed as read,
