REGULAR SESSION

The_Council met in regular session November 6, 1958 at 8:00 P.rT.
Present: R. G, Carlson, J. R, Reiter, H. A, Scott, B. L, Helms, E. E.
Williamson.
The minutes of the Regular Session October 2, 1958 were read and approved.
James Gamble asked about floating a-bond issue. Council agreed to look
into the matter,
Mr. Gamble a3so asked if culverts could be placed under Maine St. and
Grant St. Referred to Street Committee.
Motion by Mr. tiTilliamson seconded by Mr. Helms that Southern Pines Addi-
tion replat of Lots 7 - 13 ;incl. Block 3 West Wildmere presented by
Clare Balmer be accepted. All members voted yes. Motion carried,
Mr. Carlson read Ordinance No. 140 entitled an ordinance of the Town of ~~
Longwood, Florida,'regulating the weight of trucks on Church Street in
said town. Motion by Mr, Scott seconded by Mxr Reiter that ordinance
jNo. 140 be adopted as read. Mr. Scott, Reiter, Helms, Carlson voted yes
jMr, Williamson voted no. Ordinance passed to third and final reading.
Mr. Carlson read zoning ordinance No. 1.4.3 by title only. Motion by Mr,
Scott seconded by Mr. Reiter that Ordinance No. 143 be adopted, NIr.
Scott, Reiter; Helms, Carlson voted yes, Iir, Williamson voted no. Motion
carried. Ordinance passed to third and final reading.
Motion by Mr. Williamson seconded by Mr. Reiter that building permits be
issued to the following: Carlson Peters, Valentine Sass, Earl Showers, ~
Annie Barnes, .DeWitt Couatney, Angelo de Melo. Motion ~rarf~ied.

~~Motion by Mr. Reiter seconded by Mr, Helms that the salax~ of riaintenance
Man be increased to X275 retroactive of Nov. 1. IKotion carried.
`•~Motion by Mr. Scott seconded by Mr, Helms that the Town Marshall's salary
be affixed at X250 retroactive of Nov, 1. Motion carried,
Motion by Mr. Scott seconded by Mr. Reiter that the salary of Clerk of
Water Dept. be increased to X65 retroactive Nov. 1. Motion carried,
Motion by Mr. Scott seconded by Mr, Reiter that application for liquor
~~license of Don & Geri's be tabled, Motion carried.
;Motion by Mr. Williamson seconded by Nir, Scott that the various bills be
~jpaid and the financial statement be accepted. Motion carried,
