Futck~ to open. tlae r_ew session, of Council with prayer. A representative from ttae shuffleboard club ~raas present and requested lights for the shuffleboard court in the park. He was referred t•o the Pdrks and Playgrounds Committee'. A streetlight for ~~arren and Qak was requested. mayor Elgin appointed Claude Layo as Town Aiarshall and ~yebber B. Baines, Town Attorney. Motion by Air. Johnson seconded by Air. Scott that app.ointr~ents be confirmed by the Council, Carried, lotion by AYir. Scott seconded by Air. Reiter ras made to issue building permits to dir. Petry and Air. Brenenstule if t~cy- submit proper elevatior_ of house.. Carried. Motion by fir. +~illiamson seconded bl~ Air. Scott that building perc~its be granted to R. .gartman and Bror~n as requested. Carried. Anotion by Kr. Scott seconded by Bar. Reiter that the j Btrcet Committee contact the 5ounty Commissioners at the earliest possible time in connection with ar~y participation the county might be willir_g to give the Town cf Longwood ir. the paving of Church Street..
