1.The minutes of the previous meeting.were read and approved.
2.1drs, C,Smith of Palmetto Street requested the Council
to place a sign Children at play " on Palmetto Street
between Gramt Ave., and Oleander St as motorists do not
take the ordinary~cautior_ary measures in watching for ,
the children tiaho may playing in the street.She said that
with juch a sign the motorist would be enjoined tc go
s1ow.The matter was refBrred to the Street Commission for
action.
3.~r. 6:aters of the Lake Mary gire Deparment spoke regardi
theircheire to purchase the old siren which was priced
to the at 50.OO.In view of their finances, he offered
30.00.•
On motion by Ivr. Johnson, seconded by Bar. Reiter that
the Town of Longwood accept the offer of 30.00 for the
old siren-with the proviso that the ergincer representir_g
the Lake teary Fire Department remove the sirer. and that
the Town of Longwood be assured .that the person removing
siren is covered by insurance. and that the Town of Longwo
is absolved of any attendant accident thereto. carried.
,The Chairman read a complaint from Ruth and Ira Y~i~son
to the effect that the tree at the North west ccrner of
warren and YYilma Street is a dangerous menace.Two branches
have broken off and the tree is badly rotted up to 2G
ft of the trunk and the entire tree should he removed.
The matter was re8rred to IYsr. Johnson who will investigate
and check with tlye County Commission or_ the rmgval.

permit be granted tar. Zartman for the cor_struc~ion of an
additional house. Carried.
