Tax Adjustment Board as authorized by HB 480 of 1939 sessior_ o~tY~ Legislature, Councilman Leighton introduced the follovring Resolutior_ and moved its adoption. Said ~€esolution ryas duly seconded by Councilman t~ra~r and ur_animously carried. The said Reso- lution being i~. ~rords and figures as folloyvs; RESOLHTIOP? N0. 59 3d~REA~, =the Legislature ®f 1939 enacted a law l~ovm as IiousE Bill No. 480, w:n.ich was approved by the Governor on May 12th; 1939, the same being an Act Authorizing the Totem Cour>cil of ' the Town of Longwood, Florida, to act as a Municipal Delin- quent Tax Adjustment Board, preserib3.ng its powers, duties and limitations; prescribing the 1er_gth of time sucl'i board shall stay in existance, providir_g for a Chairman. and Secre- tary of said board and authorizing said board to adjust, settle and compromise any municipal tax sale certificate, or any delinquent taxes held, owned or cor_trolled by the Town or anj~ attorney ar agent thereof for the Year 193 or prior years upon any property within. said To~w~r_. ~lOV:, T~REFORE, BE IT F.ESOL•VED by tre Town t~ouncil, or Board of Aldermer_ of the fiowr_ of Longwood, r'lorida, that by and with the authority conferred by the legislations outlined above, said. Tovrr3 Council or hoard of Aldermen does novY RESOLv~ itself into a Municipal-Delinquent Tax Adjustment F3oard, and that the present President of said Tov~rn'Courcil be Chairman, ar_d the present Tovan Clerk be Becr-etary p'? 'said Municipal Delinquent Tax Adjustment Board. . ,AND 1~ IT FURTI3ER FW50L7ED, that the fia°st meeting oE: sai.d Board be held on June 29th. 1939, ar_d~the seeond meeting of said Board be held on July 6th® 1939, arsd thereafter tv~o meetings shall be held each month on the first ar_d third Thaa.rsdays of e~eh mantYa until November 1939, The first meet® ing in November 1939 shall be held on Id©v, 2nd. and the last meeting of said ?3osrd shall be held on Igo:=ember 13th. 1939. All of said meetings to be. held at the Totan Kali at 8 Pm. and the Clerk is hereby instructed to post a notice at the Post~sffice in tl~ Tewn of Longwood aaxl one at the Towr~ xa? 1 stating the brae and place of meetings for- the -purpose of considering applicati®ns for adjustment of delinquent taxes and assessmer_ts, and stating that all applications must be in writir_g by the fee simple owner or a~ lienor of the prop- erty on forms prescribed by tre board., and all actions of said board shall cor_form literally to the prclZisions of House 13111 I3o. 480 of 1939 which authorizes its creation and exist anee, BE IT F~GRTHER RE~OLVi'D, that this Resolution shall beco~e effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
