Councilman Payne introduced the following RESOLU't'ION and moved .its adoption; motion duly seconded by Councilman i*rain; RESOLUTION No. 61 y4~REAS, The retail sale of gasoline must of necessity entail a fire hazard directly affecting insurance rates on surrounding property, it is therefore to the best.int- erest of the Tourn and property owners therein that the erection of gasoline filling stations and the sale of gasoline coniorn str•~Ctly to the rules of the underwriters. governing such business; NO;~, TT3-ERE.~'ORE, 1:iE IT RESOLVED; by the `s'own Council of the 'T'own of Longwood, that hereafter anyone resiring to erect or operate a gasoline filling, station in said Tovan., shall apply for .and receive a permit. to erect. or operate such business before a.lieence to do business shall be issued, Such permit shall state that all safety rules applying to the retail sale of gasoline as lai down by the underwriters laboratories shall be col plied wit AND be it further RE50LV.~D that this Resolution become effective,.immediately upon its passage and adoption. gassed and adopted this 7th`~oday of Dec.
