read;. this letter ac_kno~rledged receipt of funds with which
to pay Bond ~8 due July 1st. 1940, I
The C~uneil was informed,t?iat stirs.. Clara Green had presented
the To~~us~ with a beautiful flag,-.the Stars and Stripes; being
the same flag that was draped on try casket of Hon. ~elin.L,
Green, her husband. I~rs, .Green expressed the hope .that the
flag might be used at meetings of the Tourist Club in the
new Park, ~iovee: by Harris, seconded by Frain and carried;
that the Clerk be instructee. to im~ediately express to Tvfrs.
Green the deep. appreciation of the IVlayor and Council for the
gift and to assure her that her wishes would be carried out
to the letter and the flag always b~-;tro.asta_.raer~°as ~a'remander

Nir. F. L. Harris tendered his resignation as 'resident of the
Council on account of the condition of his health. Moved by
Leighton, seconded by. Frain that said resignation be regretfu
accepted, and only accepted as the tivish of ~rir. , Harris for the
the very good reason given, _IvIotion Carried. Mayor fridge toot
the chair as presiding officer. Mr. Frain move moved the.elee
of lvll , D,E,Leighton as President of the Council. Tvlotion secor
by NIr. Barris 'and carried. IS~!r. Bridge announced that Yvi_r, Le i€
was duly e~cted president and turned: the .chair over to him.
The Mayor and Council thereupon extended to NIr, Harris a votE
of thanks for his valuable and untiring word.
