Sc Johnson for posits®n of Marshal read. Mayor ~~alker presented his appointment of jIIFIm, '~tum as Marsha stating that Mr. 8tum would serve in this capacity at sixty dollars per month. Moved by Lavigne, seconded by Frain and carried that the ~~ayors appointment of V~Im.Btum as Marshal be confirmed and that he be paid sixty dollars per month, eff- ective July ~. 1928. Judge Housholder addressed~.the Cour_cil in regard to the pro- posed drainage district in the nor-thwest portion of the orig final survey,. stating that necessary funds to carry on the 'work would have to be raised by Bond Issue, or, direct tax- ation, and it was decided that neither of these means would be practical at this time.
