A. Alarm - A signal (audio or visual, recorded or live) transmitted
to the InngNOOd Pnlice or Fire Departme;ts indicating a predetermined
condition. Said alarm is received either (i) Via telephone line to a designated
posieion on an alarm panel. (2) Via a privaee alarm service caq>any relayed
to the Iongwod Police or Fire Departl;ent telephone. (8) Via an autmmted
eelephone alarm system, playix;g a recorded message rfim received on ehe
Iong;.nad Police or Fire Departl;rnt telenhone. (4) Via an audible/visual sigFlal
relayed to the C1ry of Iongcawd Police or Fire Deparrn~t by a third pazty.

18-2. Arty o£ 0.ner or Leasee of Prenises.
A. Prior to rl~e installation or substantial msdi£icatr.on or use of
an alarm systan which is defined in Section 18-1 (A) the amer or lessee of the
prawses shall fvmish the rac~gmd Police and Ftre Depazwem wick surSi
i~ormaeion as ttre deparrnvits dean necessary to provide adequate response ~

B. Grmers or lessees of existing alacm systans as defined in 8eccion
18-1 (A) (1) or (3) shall stave sixty (60) days fran the dace of this chapter
Co ecvply with the above notice requirarenes.
C. O:mers or lessees of any alarm systen shall provide response to the
alarm location, crtwn requested, in order m resee or disable the alarm system
within one (1) tins of notification. Failure Co provide such response shall
~' result in a charge of $50.00 fox each such occurrence.
D. 'the operator of every place of business which utilizes an alarm
syscmi, as defined in 8eceion 18-L (A) above, shall provide, visible from the

(3) current working telephone nunbars of persons to be notified in case of an
mergency.
E. All alarm systana having an audible or visual sigul at the praid.ses

18-3. Response to Alarms, Corrective Mtion, ftepores Required and
Fees Ctarged.
A. For each respwse by the Police Depazrnpnt/Fire Depaztlrmt to an
alarm, the depazrnimt will cause a report to be filed, classi£yinp. the alarm
as we of the follaririg:
1. False alarm or system test with no notifieaeion
2. Valid alarm far cause designaeed
B. Upon the reception of a third False alarm within six (6) nonths,
the Police Depaztrrent/Fire Deparvrent shall issue a warning notice eo the ~~
wmer ox lessee or m=sagasmt of xhe presses immlved. Tne wmer or lessee
or mm~ager shall file a wciteen report with the Police Depaztwmit/Fire Depar[-
mane within five (5) wrlcing days indicating any and all neasures taker to reduce
false alarms.
C. Tnere shall be a service fee charged for false alarms according to
tkie follosing srt~edule:
Fuse Response (None in last six mmths) -1'o Fee.
Second Response (tJithin six mmrhs) - No Fee.
Third Respwse (Within six months) - 4laxxvng.
Fourth Response (Within eix mm[hs) - $100.00 Fee.
Fifth Respwse and Up (Within six mmehs) - $250.00 Fee. ~~
D. IF wtehui ten (10) days from the occurrence of a false alarm, the

Chief/Fire Chie£ that the alarm systea in question iias actually ben examined
by a repair service authorized by the system marutacturer srd either pa red,
if said repaired malfimctiw uss the cause of the Lalse alarm, or certified ttut
the systeo is Sn gcod wrking order, then providiny. the false alarm was not
caused by a~loyee error, saitl false alarm sttall not be considered a false
alarm Eor the purpose of Seceion 18-3 (C) above, providing For the assessment

pay a fee specified within ten (10) days, the Chief of Police/Fire Lfiief

Fire Chief. No discoemection or deactivation shall be ordered or made as to
mry prm~i.ses remilred by law to have an alarm systan in operation. Tne pcmer

the service £ee including attorney's fees.
18-4 -Telephone ALaxm Devices. Failure o{ the owner m correct mal-
