EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Longwood,
Florida, a suant to Fla. Stat. y166.031, may submit to the
electors of the City proposed amendments to the City Charter to
a y p t or all. thereof; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to the best
interest of the City to aneno the Charter of the City in its
entirety for the purpose of creating a revised Charter.
NOW, THERP.FORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
CTION 1: That Chapter 9825, Laws of Florida, 1923,
as amended, being the Charter if the City of Longwood, Florida,
IN and it as hereby amended in its entirety and incorporated
into one document as the Revised Charter o_ the City of
Longwood, Florida, to read in accordance with the Charter of
the City of Longwood, Florida, attached hereto and made a part
hereof word for word as if same had been more fully set out
herein by said attachment and reference thereto.
SECTION 2: The provisions of this ordinance are
declared to be separable; and if any section, sentence, clause,
or phrase of this ordinance shall, for any reason, be held to
IV invalid or unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect
the validity of the remain g ections, sentences, clauses,
and phrases of this ordinance, but they shall remain rn effect;
it being the legislative intent that this ordinance shall stand
notwi thsta nd inq the invalidity o1 any part.
SECTION 3: The question of the amendment of the
Charter shall be submitted to 1 vote o£ the electors of the
City at a referendum special election to be held in the C y
of Longwood, Florida, on the 1st day of August, A.D. 19]A, or a
soon thereafter as same may be It by resolution of the City
Council of the City of Longwood, Florida.
SECTION 4: That the form of ballot to be used at
said referendum shall be as follows:
