AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LONGIJOOD, PLORIUA,
PROVIDING DISTRICTS FOR ELECTION PURPOS F.S AS
PROVIDED BY CHAPTER 69-12]0, LAWS OF FLORIDA,
RF.GUTAR SESSION, 1969, PROVIDING CONFLICTS AND
EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, Chaptee 69-12]0, Laws of Florida, Regular
Session, 1969, provides thae the City Council of the City o£
Longwood, Florida, may by Ordinance divide the Ci cy into five
(5) geographical areas and require chat each City Councilman
shall reside vn a separate designated ar and chat the
boundaries of such diserie is shall be nearly equal in population
as pract veal; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it eo the best interest
of the City to establish districts requi ring chat each Councilman
shall reside in a des ignaced district and that such residency
sha 11 be a pre re qui si ee fox quaiific at ion to office of City
Councilman.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
tANGW00D, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: CITY DIVIDED INTO FIVE DISTRICTS.
The Ciey of Longwood, Florida, shall be divided into
five (5) districts described as follows:
Diserice 1 shall be all of chat part of the City Iying
South of Warren Avenue and State Road 434, and West of Grant
Avenue North of State Road 434 to ves vote rs ec ev on with Warren
Avenue and West Oleander Street extended North to vts vntersec-
von with State Road 434 and extended South to its ante rs ecta.on
wieh the South Corporate Boundary of the City, and bounded on
the Sou ch and the West by the Corporate Boundary of the City.
Diserice 2 shall be all thae pare of the City of
Longwood, Florida, lying South of State Road 434, Ease of
Oleander Stxeet extended North To its rote es ecCion with State
Road 434 and extended South eo its intersection wieh the South
C,oxporate Aoundary of the City, and bounded on Che East and
S ou eh by Che Corporate Boundary o£ the City.
District 3 shall be all thae part of the City of
Longwood, Florida, Lying North of State Road 434, East of Grant
Street, South of Seminole Avenue and West of the East Hounda ry
of the Corporate Limits of the Cie y.
District 4 shall be all chae part of the City
lying Easc of Grane Se re ee, North of Seminole Avenue, South of
the North Corporate Boundary, West o£ the East Corporate
Boundary.
Diserice 5 shall be all of chat pare of the City lying
North of Warren Avenue and State Road 434, West of Grant Avenue,
S ouch of North Corporate Boundary and East o£ West CorporaCe
Boundary.
SECTION 2: CITY CODNCILMEN TO BE ELECTED FROM

DISTRICTS.
There sha 11 be a res idene Councilman from each distric
created by this Ordinance who shall be elected Erom each diseric
in an eleceion ac large. The City Councilmen Exom Districts
3 and 5 shall be elected in each even numbered year, co~m~encing
in Che General Election of the year 19]2. The City Councilmen
From Diseric cs 1, 2 and 4 shall be elected in each odd numbered
year, covmencing in ehe General Election of the year 1973. The
Mayor may reside rn any distrrce created under this Ordinance.
