BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LONGSOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1: Short Title. This Ordinance sha11 be known
and may be cited as the "Longwood Munrcipal Cemetery Ordinance".
SECTION 2: Defini.tions. For the purpose of this
Ordinance, the following terms, phrases, words, and their
derivations sha11 have the meaning given herein. When not incon
sistent with the Conte , words used in the present tense .includ
the I—— ords in the plural number include thessingular
number, and words in the singular number include the plural
number. The word "sha11" is always mandatory and not merely
directory.
(1) c y is the City o£ Longwood, Florida.
(2) "Council" is the City Council o£ the City of
Longwood, Florida.
(3) "clerk" is the City Clerk of the City of Longwood,
(4) Municipal Cemetery" or "Cemetery" rs the
Municipal Cemetery of the City of Longwood, Florida, commonly

(5) Person is any person, firm, p rtnership, assoc

corporation, company or organization o_ any kind.
(6) Superintendent" is the Superintendent of the
Munrcipal Cemetery.

SECT— 4: Rules and Aequlations. The Council shall
from time to time establish rules and regulations for the use o-
the Cemetery relating to.
(1) Subdividing The cemet ry nto lots
(2) Capacity If
each lot
(3) Location If graves
(4) Type of plantings, monuments and markers that will
be permitted for the proper and most attractive development of
the cemetery.
SECTION 5: Superintendent. The Council shall appoint
a Superintendent of the Municipal Cemetery. 'Phe Superintendent
shall be subject to removal at any time by the Council.
SECTION 6: I— Of Superintendent.
(1) Brett Cemetery. The Superintendent shall look
after and take proper care of the Cemetery and see That no lot
therein is used or occupied in violation of this Ordinance or of
any rule or regulation promulgated by the Council.
(C) CO llect and Turn over Fees. All fees and Charges
collected by the Superintendent for duties and services performed
in connection with the Ccmetery sha11 immediately be turned 0—
by Rim I. the Clerk.
(3) Supervise Interment. The Superintendent 1-1
supervise interment.
SECTION ]: Rules for Interment. No deceased person
shall be interred in the Cemetery until the Superintendent has

(b) That a burial permit has been obtained from the
Public Health Officer as required by law;

the deceased person and of the exact location of the. grave.
SECTION 8: Lot Valuation. The Council sha11 at the
beginning of each fiscal year place a value upon Al unsold lots
in the Cemetery, and shall record such valuations on an official
map or plan of such Cemetery that shall be kept on Isle, open to
public inspection, rn the office of the Clerk. Such valuat.i.ons
shall be fixed and the Salvation as established sha11 be the
pxice at which such lots shall be sold. These shall be no dis-
crimination it the sale of lots, on any basis except that no lot
t —h— a particular lot or lots, fox the purpose of which
it is intended, shall be permitted to do so upon payment of the
full pxice fixed for such lot.
SECTION 9: ecords of Ownership. The Clerk shall ke
full and complete records of the ownership of all lots in the
Cemetery, of the burial capacity of each lot, sold and unsold,
If the location of each grave, of the names of the persons bur
I, each 9rave that has been or shall hereafter be use , and of
the date o£ burial of each.
SECTION IQ: cemetery Accounts. The clerk shall keep
account of the Cemetery, and whenever there is a surplus of cash.
If Two Hundred HIU— ($200.00) or more in the Cemetery Account,
the surplus shall be placed in time certificates or other such
derived therefrom shall be placed in the Cemet y account.
SECTION 11_ Reports. The Clerk shall make a monthly
report on the condition of the Cemetery to the Council. The
Clerk shall also make an annual report on the condition of the
Cemetery providing the Council with all i.nforma tion necessary to
recommending the amount that should be appropriated fox the
Cemetery in the budget.
SECTION 12: Conflicts - Any Ordinance or parts of
